Question about the Grammar of Possession

Hello! Recently I've been talking to a friend who doesn't speak any English at all, and the topic came up where he's asking to see something I am not quite clear about.
So (as an extremely bad example) if he asks ケーキ見たいわん would it be correct to ask わたしのケーキ to clarify?
Also, as a follow up, what would be the correct way to ask, "Are you sure? It's not that great..."
I am sorry if this makes no sense at all, but I would appreciate any help! ^^

Yes, わたしのケーキ works perfectly fine. Just わたしの? is also OK.

(BTW, where did you get the expression わん from??)

It depends on what "it" refers to (cake, in your example).

I would say ほんとに？でも普通だよ。
