Yeah, this one goes out to all of you who lives in Japan at the moment.
I am a student at a "farming school" studying the equestrian line (I forgot what the real name of a school like that is. but I guess farming school says enough.). During our last year we have the opporunities to go to different countries as trainees for about 4-6 weeks, but I am not really interested in any european country which is the most normal choice for students at this school. No one has yet been to Japan as a trainee, and I surely wouldn't mind being the first one. Therefor I now beg all of you who live there to keep your eyes open for stables that you might find. Ridingschools, training stables etc. I would be very very thankful if you would put the names of them on your memories and tell me here so that I could look for websites. Hoepfully atleast <i>one</i> stable will have people who are riding on levels good enough to go international and hopefully one will be able to speak english. It's 2 years left until I get this chance, but it's never too early to start and I'd ratcher start checking things up now than in the last minute and end up in Germany or Spain anyways. Not that I would mind any of those countries, but Japan is me more close to heart and the natural choice for me.

OK Michiy0 san, I'm on the look out !! I know of a couple of stables here in the Azumi valley, and up near Hakuba, and over on the southern end of the mountians between Suwa and Karuizawa. I'll check into them, and see what I can come up with.

My sister and her husband have eight horses--one with a pure blood line that they use as a stud--and boy how I wish I had one !!

Thank you so much MM, it really means alot to me! I really hope to find a stable to go to in Japan, it would be one of my dreams coming true and a part of a goal on my way to the big one! Perhaps you will actually get to taste my chocolate cake one day

Oh, that sounds great. I wish I had the time for a horse of my own right now, but with school it is kinda hard to get the time for a horse truly on my own. Though it doesn't stop me from riding others a few days a week. I am going to try out a new horse tomorrow actually.
A 5 year old in training. It will be fun, since I clearly remember last time I helped riding a young horse. I've never fallen of that many times, though not had such a great time since either. I hope to do well, it's nothing more fun than to be a part of a horse education and then lean back and look on the result, remembering the days when we struggled so bad and when it looks so good now. It's such a shame Dollar has moved so far away. ☝ He was such a lovely friend. We had the best time. I am still surprised I never fell off from him, with all his bucking and joy-jumps. Nothing could beat us. I really miss him.. though I'll go there next summer again.

No, I did not expect that. I know it's rare, I've been looking on the net for almost a year to find stables that could possibly accept a foreing trainee. But with quite a few members who do live in Japan on this forum, I thought perhaps someone would have heard about something atleast.

There are quite a few riding schools (usually teaching British riding). There is one that I know of that is right at the base of Mt. Fuji, but I can not recall the name right now. I will see if I can find it for you.

That would be great. It's the british ridingstyle I&auml;ve been learning for 7 years now. I', not that familiar with the others, though I've tried to ride icelantic horses and got to try a very very little baroque-riding once on a family-friends horse. Thanks alot in advance.
