any chance of getting cheaper technology from good ol japan? I know japan is a head of us in the technological curve... So I was wondering if in the future it might be cheaper when searching for items to buy it from jaanese places.. Or would it be more trouble then its worth with shipping handling.. and then get a product that doesn't even have the american language on it..

Its cheaper, to transferr things from japan to america, i transport my nintendo wii with 10 games from japan to belgium and it was cheap. im not sure if it is cheap to transport like i pretend but normally it may not be expensive

Dude.. I was there on the novermber 19th release in my country.. number 7 in line... I guess I will have to check on it more.. prices and languages and stuff..

"cheaper technology" is pretty vague. What are you talking about?

"Cheaper technology" is a misnomer - allot of computer goods are made in Taiwan; Monitors, TVs, VCRs and the sort are made in Korea as much as Japan; ipods and sort are often mass-produced in China.

Infact the only thing I know of that is far cheaper in Japan compared to my own country (Australia) is digital cameras, which are the same price in America as Japan anyway.

Ah yes, but the ones in Japan look much nicer than the ones in America. And apparently the display screen on the Japanese ones tend to be bigger.

Because I do not know a price of an American electric appliance, I do not understand what is cheap.
I think that software of Japan version is hard to be available in U.S.A. even if you buy a game machine such as PS3 and WiLL in Japan.
In addition, because a manual is Japanese,
You do not understand an operation method unless you can understand Japanese.
There is not a merit to buy a Japanese product in Japan only by being cheap.
But,
A topic of an electric appliance of this year in Japan.
Sony seems to release organic EL television this year.
Toshiba is to release it the year after next.
In Japan, a liquid crystal monitor and plasma television, a battle of organic EL television begin from now on.
And blue disk and HD DVD.
