pre Ww1 Scottish mess jacket

I have a pre ww1 dated (November 1911) mess jacket (used for special occasions such as dinner parties and balls). It belonged to a captain by the name of James Anderson who was in the 7th Fife battalion and at the time of his death was attached to the 9th black watch. He was killed on August 23rd 1917 at Gallipoli farm, Ypres, Belgium. He was ordered to attack a German position and was killed charging towards it. He was the only officer casualty of that day of the regiment. 23 other men were either injuried or killed that day.

My wife is from England and her dad was from Scotland. He served 30 years in the Black Watch and got out as a top kick sergeant. At 5 foot 5 , he was one tough man. He served in the jungles with the Gurkhas for a few years and traveled to many hot spots during WWII. He could tell some great stories and I miss him.

Oh well r.i.p to the guy. I believe those that fought with the Gurkhas in ww2 were the seaforth Highlanders but I could be wrong. But still I guess there would be a lot of stories that he would tell that were intriguing
