Hello!

I was re-reading the following dialogue, and it occurred to me that the 続けます (below) could be 続く in the potential form, whereas when I first read these sentences I took 続けます as 続ける (transitive), with 仕事 as the (elliptical) object . Am I correct in thinking this is ambiguous? Does it make much difference? My textbook doesn't address this.

続く is non-volitional, so the potential form doesn't exist. 続ける is the transitive verb there.

Ah, very good. Thanks so much, Toritoribe-san
