Are you tired of living in the concrete jungle that is Tokyo? Would you like to try living in the Japanese countryside, where life is slower, cheaper, less crowded, commuting-free, and more healthy? Take a look at a couple who did just that.
Here are a couple of things that jumped out at me from the video.
* You will need to buy a car.
* No one in your area will speak English. You must have at least basic Japanese conversational ability before you even get there, or it will not go well.
* Most of the people in your area will be elderly. If you are going to be looking for people your own age to hang out with, you may be out of luck.
* If your 'people skills' are not so good, you may have feelings of isolation.
I watched several videos on this topic. One thing I noticed is that most foreigners lived in a big city like Tokyo or Osaka for a year or two before moving to the countryside, and this seems to have helped a lot.
