Post deletion?

Yesterday I made a Halloween post ("Begone, wretched imps") in the Chit-chat forum, and today it's gone. Did I violate some rule?

I think a Gremlin or Troll ate it ??

I confess , I deleted it. It seemed kind of a personal complaint and not a "discussion" type post? Was there a "point" to the post that I missed ? Maybe to discuss the flu or trick or treating ? If you would like to reword it for members to discuss something about it , I will leave it alone , but a post that starts a new thread should have a clear point to talk about.

I admit it was kind of a rambling, perhaps even a bit feverish, complaint about trick-or-treating. But I'd also had some slight hope it might launch a discussion of Halloween customs.

"Chit-chat" to me embraces both pointed and pointless conversation, but I'll mark this up to a learning experience. No complaint, really; I just couldn't figure out why the post was deleted.
