The mind boggles as to why a Pokemon event at a cemetery commemorating the war dead was organised in the first place.

Definitely something Nintendo could and should have prevented, and another perfect opportunity for China to bash its neighbour.

With the closeness of the shrine to the right of the LDP, this event is likely to have been known about and approved by the government. It seems common sense not to aggravate a major trading partner that Japan has a difficult relationship with over something so easily avoidable (and Yoyogi Park would make a much better venue). There don't seem to be many people thinking straight in the current administration.
