Please help me with writing KAREU in JAPANESE!

Hi My name's Julita and I'm from Poland.
I would like to get a tatoo on my arm.
Te problem is I don't know how to write KAERU (frog) in JAPANESE, you know what I mean? I talk about those great japanese symbols!
I'll be very gratefull if someone could show me how it look likes.

Aesthetically, I think that kaeru is an ugly kanji. It's comprised of the mark for "bug," and two for "dirt/earth." I would also like to point out what a horrible idea it is to get a kanji tattoo. Please reconsider this.
 
The "two dirts" actually mean a type of jewel.

Well, no, not really, but in terms of meaning it's a lot more pleasing I would say.

I want to get "frog" tattooed on my forehead in Polish. Can anyone tell me how to write that?
 
People call me 'żaba' (in polish)... it means FROG (in english) and kaeru (in Japanese)... Japanese people think that KAERU bring luck, so please stop being rude. ;/ ok? ha ha ha buger very funny... it's not you're problem why I'm doing it, you know... I only want a little help... Can someone nice draw me this in PAINT or something?! I can't read those simbols on other Japanese sites, and I don't know why. I try to change something in options, but it doesn't work. ;/
 
From reading other such threads and seeing bad kanji written on people, Mike Cash once linked to a site than had bad kanji tats, I would also go out and find someone who actually knows how to write kanji. Your average man in the tattoo parlour in Europe in general isn't particulaly known for their ability to speak, read or write Chinese or Japanese in any fluency or accuracy. A generalisation, I know, but I suspect close to the truth.

garuette, what significance does the Japanese word have to you? It seems pretty pointless to get the tattoo in a language you can't read. Besides, I rather like the sound of "zaba." Why not just stick with your own language, not exotic enough?

Threads like this make me wonder if Japanese tattoo English, French, German, etc on to themselves because the languages are more exotic than Japanese to them?
 
I like Tom Griswold's advice regarding tattoos.

He says you should get the design on a piece of paper, carry it around in your wallet, and show it and explain it to everyone you see. If you're not sick of doing that after a couple of years, go ahead and have it done.

Tattoos are very uncommon in Japan except among gangsters and (less commonly) surfers. Which makes it a little ironic that so many people want to get Japanese inked on themselves.

Are they really still THAT uncommon?
Now that it's summer I see a lot of young people with them, especially trendy girls. They also don't seem to be ashamed of being poorly associated because the tattoo wasn't often hidden much....
 
Maybe it's different in Tokyo, but out here in the country I rarely see tattoos (granted, I rarely encounter young people over the age of 15 either). Most of the hot spring establishments I visit have signs that say "Don't come in if you have tattoos."
 
The girls I saw in Tokyo with tattoos all looked like tramps (In 10 months the number of times I saw tattoos on girls numbered in the single digits). Incidentally, It's been a long time since I've seen a tattoo that I thought actually looked good.
 
In Tokyo they've become as common as stupidity. Seeing tattoo parlors spring up in high-rent storefronts right on the main drags catering to the young crowd.
 
Tell me Japan is not becoming Americanized.

I don't understand you people! Why are you giveing me advices which I don't really need? The point is that I don't wan't a tatoo, but my friend does. It was much easier for me to write, that I wanted a tatoo, but NEVER MIND! I just won't to help my friend and It's not my problem why he wan't that kind of tatoo, even more yours! Nobody is helping me, but discussing why, whyy and why?! I don't get it. Someone write that likes word "żaba" so maby my friend wanted to "żaba" cuold sound more exotic as you sad, but that's hes problem, not yours! It's normal that people likes other languages, because they sound fine to them. Big deal! Stop judging!
CAN SOMEONE NICE HERE COULD DRAW ME (just like 'RUDEL') KAERU in Japanese?! I can't read from sites those simbols (as I sad farther back)... I don't know whyy and I can't change it.
If you know how, please help me I would be really gratefull as I already sad .
I don't care that in Japan that kind of tatoo it will not be cool... My friend probably never gonna go there, so? You are really problematic people. I here more and more problems that you trin' to show me.
 
This is Kaeru. Are you wanting a custon drawn one? If so, just print that picture out, and give it to the tatoo parlor. They can draw you a nice one from it.
 
Sometimes people need to be told how bad their ideas are, so they don't commit to something they'll regret. If your 'friend' still wants this done, take rudel's advice and take the image to a parlor. I'm sure they'll give you something you'll be happy with, since you obviously don't care about anything beyond the meaning of the character.
