Please help. Info on flag for young student.

My son was given this flag from a friend. I'm sure it's world War 2. Can anyone help with translation? Perhaps we can find the family it originated from. Thank you!

I always say , give it a day or two for an answer because of the time differance and people working or on New Years vacation. Also , don't be discouraged with the answer , we aren't paid experts here , just members giving their educated opinion. During the war , tons of fakes were made for service people to take home as souvenirs but we do get flags posted here that are real. Also , there is a group that tries to get real flags returned to the original owners family. Glad you found us to post yours.

That is actually what I am going to try to talk my son into. He is 12 and a huge history buff, but I think the family this may have came from would like to have it.

I was told my original picture was upside down. The strings should be to the right. I took some closer pictures and ran it through Google translate. It wasn't super clear. It only chose certain words to translate. Several of what seems to be names and things like "4 swords" and "conquer". I'm sure eventually someone will be able to clarify. Thank you again!

It's pretty much all names/signatures as expected. But we need the experts to chime in to see if they see anything that doesn't look legitimate or if the recipient is identifiable.

Thank you so much. I have some provenance as far as age and material. It's definitely from that time line. It's very difficult to translate with any kind of app. As you said there's several names and parts of what seems to be inspiring phrases, but translation apps only pick up bits and pieces. Not sure how to know which name would be the actual owner. Thanks again!
