Just a random question I want cleared up.
Over the new year period I drove along the coast of Miyagi to see how things were and noticed a few wooden stakes with a number on and a pink ribbon attached.
I assumed this represented a place where a body was found (I believe they used a spray painted red cross when inside a still standing building) but my Japanese family said it was just a marker for the area.
I did a Google search and only found one reference in the telegraph (UK) that said my theory of the pink ribbons was correct, but found no other sources mentioning the pink ribbon.
They seemed rather randomly placed to mark an area (like 2-3 next to each other in a ditch, and next to a tree, etc) so I wondered if anybody on here knew?
