I think I know what these sentences mean, but there are too many words I don't know. can someone help me out.

今日はバレンタイン・ディ。
学校では好きな子にプレゼントを贈って告白しようとする子や、
ママに焼いてもらったチョコレートブラウニーをクラス全員に
配ってまわる子だとか、
お気に入りの仲間を呼んでパーティを開く子だとかがいて、
みんな朝からそわそわしていた。
わたしはそんな騒ぎにはいつも馴染めなくて、
みんなの姿が遠くに見えてた。

隣の席のアンナは、パパにプレゼントあげたらパパがどれくらい
感激したかって話を一日中繰り返してた。
わたしにもパパがいたら、そんなことしたりするかなって
ちょっと思ったりもしたけど、でもいたとしても、
きっと今日のアンナみたいにパパのこと、
みんなに自慢したりはしないだろうって、思ったりもした。

学校の帰りにふと思いついて、
小さなマーガレットの花束を買って帰った。
キッチンのテーブルに飾っておいたら、
ジェシカがとっても喜んでくれた。うれしかった。

Alright, so that was a weak ending, but I think it served its purpose.

* I'm assuming that that ふ is 婦.

It seems a bit weird that a grown man would be in class with children. I think I'm missing something here. :? Maybe my assumption was wrong. Or maybe it's a college class. Context would be helpful here, and I would certainly feel better if I knew who this guy was.

ふと思う： To think for a fleeting instant; to be inspired suddenly.

The person gave the flowers to Jessica, whoever it is, who lives at his/her home.

Ah, thank you, epigene! I had figured that it might be an onomatopoeia, but didn't find one listed when I checked the dicitonary. And I didn't mind doing the translation at all in the Todai thread. I just hope I got it how you wanted it. The last thing I want to do is misrepresent someone else's words.

Thanks, Glenn ! That makes it more like a real class. I should have realized the "ya" in 子やママに was there to divide the two clauses, not connect 'mothers and their children' as a single unit.

actually, it was the long sentences combined with the words I don't know. Sorry, I forgot to give the context....

it's part of a diary of a girl who lives with her aunt(jessica), that would explain what she's doing in a class with children... sorry again.

this part confused me the most. I thought it was "I thought of little margaret, who bought a bouquet of flowers", but I didn't notice the "wo" particle. I do that often.

ふと思う = 不図思う right?

the girl in the seat next to me was going over how she was going to praise her father when she gives him his present the whole day long, If I had a father too I probably would be proud as well, but I don't think I would brag like that.

I translated this as:

the girl in the seat next to me was going over how she was going to praise her father when she gives him his present all day, If I had a father too I probably would be proud too, but I don't think I would brag like that.

As you asking if this translation is right? I have mentioned earlier that Glenn's translation is right. :?

ふと思う = 不図思う right?

Yes, but it is no longer common to write the phrase in kanji. Generally speaking, it is not appropriate to replace everything with kanji in the rules of modern Japanese usage.

I know that, but I was just wondering. I've never seen words like suru and futo in kanji before, but it's always nice to know.
