Hi everyone, I've almost completed another level of Nintedo 蜍慕黄逡ｪ髟ｷ but have come across another complex part that's beyond me. The context is: I'm an animal, I'm working my way up the food chain eating other animals, I've just beaten a squad leader, changed form and opened the door to another level.

I got as far as :

" I like this Raw meat class! A cheek fell, it was pressed down, how dreadful. Still, this rawness is different. And yet, raw feeding adjoining to that area, ????????? ! I want to see. Later, I will build the form of this class of raw meat. The dash is wonderful."

I suspect much of it is a bit off and I can't find certain words in dictionaries so it's all getting a bit complex. There's another page after this I hope it's easier. As ever, your help is greatly appreciated -- Edwin.

I got as far as :

" I like this Raw meat class!"

I'm not sure 'うますき' should be translated as 'I like'. (Lit. "Too tasty"), also キュウ sounds more like 'level / grade / rank' than class to me.

ほっぺがおちる is one of those customary phrases - I'm pretty sure your translation of "A cheek fell, it was pressed down, how dreadful." is, er, 'somewhat at variance' with the original meaning. (e.g. completely wrong

So the sentence literally means something like "So delicious stopping my cheeks from falling of was very difficult."
Just pick a similar English phrase for 'mouth-wateringly delicious'

Ha ha, that's a great phrase, no wonder my translation is so naff, apart from my complete inability that is. I'll come back later in the day and check the thread then have another go. Thanks for the UTF info, I've tried a quick test and it seems to work fine now in shift JIS on my mac, OSX. いちばん。

The やっぱ is from やっぱり of course, you might want to fine tune the translation of that bit now that the previous sentence has been re-interpreted.

You're missing a kanji at the end of 'ヘそのあたりが〠 ?'.

ヘそのあたり is 'the area round your belly button'

Phew, I've had another look but there are a couple of lines in the middle there that are just beyond me. The furthest I can get is :

I can't find きゅん from "キュンってなるんですよね" or すっごく from "すっごくナスにあいたくなるっていうか" in any dictionaries. Giving up time on this para?

Well you should have been able to guess すっごく because there is (officially) no 'gg' sound in Japanese. It's just すごく with some emphasis. (You might have come across すんごく as well).

キュンって is the same thing as きゅんと - again emphasis.

I've just rechecked the game, it is うますぎ, umasugi, the tenten is heavily pixelated onscreen and only just discernable. Well, know I"m feeling a lot more successful, here's my latest stab:

The goo dictionary is a great link and I managed a good translation by pasting it into infoseeks translator :

Once you gave me the clue about the emphasis and I could look up those words I managed a glimpse at the meaning. And I realised that in the middle of すっごくナスにあいたくなるっていうか there's an あいたい "wish to meet" where the "i" has become "ku" followed by a "naru" -- become, and an "iu" -- to say. I'm probably wrong but I'm guessing that the general gist is ball park.

This has been a good lesson, thanks Paul for not just doing it for me and making me work for some of it, I've benefitted I'm sure. Fortunately the second page was a lot easier so I can get on with the game now, yippee.

Niku-kyu doesn't mean the level of raw meat, but it means ball-shaped part of the palm and sole of cats, dogs, bears etc. literally, niku = meat, kyuu = ball. "The (speed of the)dash is wonderful (cause I ate raw nikukyu)", make sense? And what do you call niku-kyu in English?

I think you'd say the "pads of the feet", can't think of any other term for them. Thanks for the extra info Kara, I've changed the "class" to "paws" and also included Pauls more accurate "cheek" translation which I overlooked yesterday, this is much better...

I think a freer translation might be necessary if you want it to sound like good English. The sentence "I'd say I'd like to meet wonderful raw meats," doesn't make sense. You don't typically meet inanimate objects. Perhaps something like "experience" or "discover" or "be exposed to" or something along those lines. You get the idea.

Obviously, I don't know the context, so certain things probably make more sense. Like "I want to see." What does he want to see? That feels very strange just sort of sitting in there, not saying what he wants to see. And what is "build the form of these raw meat paws?" lol Crazy sentence.

Thanks, rquethe, you're right I know but as I've only 9 months Japanese language behind me I'm as interested in a literal translation that helps me understand the meaning as a proper one that sounds more natural in English. Also I know there are still some mistakes in there but as I get more language and grammer behind me I think in time I'll improve. "A man's got to know his limitations" as a very famous TV film Cop said : )
