Online Racism and South Africa

I believe it's important for all groups in South Africa to work out a compromise and try to live in peace. Yes, it is possible. No, I am not the only one to believe so. You don't want to end up like a boy in America named Scott, who lives in Seattle and who posts vile messages full of hatred toward Blacks. He posts as "Max Power" and as "little_oswald" in various forums. He is 25 and lives with his parents, and pretends to be an "engineer" online.

Here is a sample of his writing:

Newsflash Mike -- spear-chucking, cannibalism, witchcraft and 'ooga-booga' hardly qualify as 'language and culture and religion.'"

As you can see, he denies that Blacks had their language and culture taken away. And this guy thinks he has a promising future as a writer! Ignorance like this is what has led to so much suffering in South Africa.

I don't think, it's appropriate to post people's pictures accompanied by allegations. If this guy has a personal website, you can post the link. But to post a pic & tell others that this is the bad boy who wrote this or that is not OK.

No it's not enough. I don't know how you Jew haters do it in Germany but in America being totally ignorant to the unreprehensible damages of slavery (the imbodiement of what this country was founded on) does not come across lightly. Bossel im sure your offended by the symbol of your country being drawn onto someones picture but in my opinion it is rightly so. Bye!

Oh, Timsan, how nice you are. But sorry, I'm not offended by putting the swastika on some picture. It is inappropriate to publicise a picture of anybody without any proof that the depicted person actually has done something wrong. How do you know that this is the guy who wrote the article? Just because plantinga said so? Maybe plantinga has some other agenda? What makes you so sure that it's not simple defamation of a person he dislikes?

Anyway, I suppose there are enough anti-fa sites on the web where this stuff can be posted. I doubt, that J-ref is the place to do so.

Obviously you are also rather un-educated, Timsan. The swastika is not the symbol of my country, it's the symbol of National-Socialism.
Furthermore, there are not so many Jew haters in Germany, for what I know. The part of the population that has a negative attitude towards Jews is around 15 % (according to recent surveys), pretty much like the average of most European countries, AFAIK.

Hmm, education again? For what I know, there were a lot of other issues regarding the history of the USA, eg oppression/genocide of Amerindians, democracy, personal/religious freedom, etc.
