One sentence....

I need help, this is one sentence from history I want to translate to Japanese. I don't know is my sentence correct. Can somebody help me?

The sentence is-If that would have not happened, our country would be restored into the condition in what it has been before the war.

My translation is-Sonna koto ga okoranakatta nara, wareware no kuni ga senzen no hou ga yomigaetta.

Is it correct translation?

それが起きなかったら、わが国は戦前の状態になっているだろう。

Don't take that as correct or natural, though; I just wanted to give it a shot.
