Crime NPA warns of job scams linked to recent robberies

The terms on social media included "high income in a short period," "starting from 50,000 yen (about $330) per day" and "200,000 yen at a certain location in Tokyo," emphasizing that the rewards were high. They also appealed that payment would be made on the day, with phrases such as "immediate payment" and "will distribute the money." The shady jobs were disguised as being easy, simple and legal tasks such as transporting people and things and receiving packages. Specific phrases included, "easy carrying work," "transport a person late at night," "carrying documents," "cab work" and "depositing luggage at a locker." Some descriptions emphasized that the work was a "white project," referring to a clean job.
