New Year's Resolutions ????

Of course!

Damn, 5 miles a day? You would run me into the ground.

And, I've had a hard time getting into it myself. I used to lift weights alot, and it's been, uh, strange watching myself lose so much weight as I prepare. I've lost about 20 pounds since I started running seriously again. I feel like that skinny kid I used to be back in High School.

:embarasse

I need to quit making excuses for not going to the gym in the morning. For many years, I have been exercising regularly with a combination of cardio and weight lifting. For the past 4 years, I have been really consistent in getting my carcass moving early in the morning and getting to the gym 6 days a week with 3 days dedicated to cardio and abs, and 3 days with the iron.

In July, when we were on vacation in Mexico, I turned my left ankle while running before sunrise one morning. This was not a serious injury, but it did stop me from running or stairmaster for a while. Shortly thereafter and back at home, I strained my left shoulder from getting a bit too aggressive (which is a eupemism for getting a little stupid) on chest day, and going for a max bench press. Having been down this road before, I knew what to do, and I really cut back on all exercise for a while, concentrating on rehab. Now I am healthy again, and have no excuses, but in the past couple of months, I have wimped out most days, only going there two or three days a week.

No more excuses. I know what I need to do, and it is just a matter of doing it. I am logging off right now and going to the gym.

In rough, gym rat voice...

"How much ya bench?"

:29: :p

I torn a pec wrestling.... Not a pretty sight, I was out a whole season recovering.

Can I come too?

I used to run an average of 5 miles a day. After having been on about an 8 year leave of absence(walking, but not jogging), I'm trying to start back. It's not as hard as I thought it would be, because it seems that some of the endurance I built up back then is still there, but it's definitely not easy. I can see it's going to take awhile for me to get back into the groove...

I've never been one for running, but I love to walk, and get in an average of three to four miles a day. During the workday, I do a couple of miles at lunch. Works up a good appetite! I also bike when I can, epecially during spring and summer. Lots of fun!

Jeff, what state? Cause if you guys have Mega Millions and not Powerball, you and me'll be fighting. :p

Seriously, mine's to lose at least 15 pounds, without gaining it back. I've lost 10 in the past two months and kept it gone, so this shouldn't be too bad a problem at all. (I'm skinny now, but that extra 15 gone would be my "perfect" weight.)

I'm in Pennsylvania, Brenna, so I guess I'm safe from your fists of fury! :D

New year resolution : (most of them are recycled from previous year) 😌

in no order:
- Learn how to smile naturally. :-) <- like this. How do you guys smile(naturally anyway)
- Exercising.
- Stop daydreaming.

Jeff--Okay, then. As long as you don't take my Mega Millions winnings, you can have your lottery too. ;)

Good one with the smile naturally. I can't smile, it just doesn't look right.

LOL!!! My wife usually goes with me to the gym, so I think that focusing on the girls while I am there would get me into trouble 😊 although the scenery on some days certainly does make being there a more pleasant experience :-)

No resolutions this year. Although I do need to lose a lot of weight. (Or I may not be able to make resolutions next year.)

I'm off to shovel about a foot of new snow. It's cheaper than the gym.

tell your wife that 'if you want me to be healthier, just let me stare at women's breasts'

a German study shows that staring at women's breasts for 10 minutes a day would help to reduce the chances of heart attack and strokes
A Goodbye From Cool Running!

Is that true? Well, hot damn! Let me stare at Dolly Parton or Anna Nicole Smith for a few hours and I'll be healthier than a dozen horses!

:D

Very interesting. I wonder what works for women? :?:p

My resolutions are:

Keep my job.
Write to my family and friends in Japan more.
&
Be a bit more girlie and be interested in fashion and stuff...

I'm not one for new year resolutions. I can keep a promise to other persons but to myself it seems hard. There will always be excuses not to exercise, excuses to eat and eat, excuses not to study... blah blah. :-)

mine is.....

My New Year resolution is.......don't make resolutions 👍

my new years resolution was to get through this stoopid anthropology class without dropping it and... *thinks* i'm pretty sure the other one was to actually get around to watching the last two episodes of escaflowne..

..i already know what happens.. i just never got around to watching it. ;_;
