'New reply to watched thread' notifications sent out every 15 mins

Dear valued Members,

Some of you may have noticed that since this morning (JST, 15 April), 'New reply to watched thread' notifications have been sent out every 15 minutes. I am unsure what caused this issue, as no changes were made to the settings or the database, but let me assure you that we are working on it.

For the time being, until this glitch is resolved, we have turned off all outgoing emails. Sadly, this means you will not receive notifications about new content.

If you were affected by the email flood, please let us know.

I have those kinds of notifications shut off. They would just go into my mailbox with the other thousands of unread messages. These days email is not the way to get my attention. It's hit or miss if I even notice it. I do miss important things sometimes.

Yes, I received three or four notifications last night. I thought something was kicking off on the thread, but when I looked there were no new posts.

I disabled outgoing emails last night, but re-enabled them this morning. There might be more of these notifications sent out today. Please disregard them while we work on solving this issue.

I am quite confident that the issue is now resolved. I disabled all add-ons to check whether one of them might be the culprit. Nada. I also downgraded PHP on the server. Whatever it was, mail jobs are now being deleted from the queue, so there should be no more duplication.

I posted about 30 test posts today, so I apologise if you received any "test notifications".

Also, please let me know if you still receive duplicates.
