Thanks for sharing your screenies. I am not worried about Firefox. That's the way textfields are rendered in Mozilla. I reckon if we disabled the smilie table everything would be back to normal. I am however clueless about the behaviour in IE. As I have said earlier, I am unable to reproduce it.

Thanks for your feedback. I don't think that the colours we used are flashy (and I have checked them on different screens and resolutions). These are actually the original colours vB2 used to be shipped with.
Anyhow, as I have mentioned a couple of times (not specifically directed at you, Brooker):
- the new style is an effort to bring the forum in line
with the rest of the website. Perhaps some of our forum activists are not aware of the fact that JREF consists of more than just the forum, lolol.
- the other styles are still available. Now, apart from Paul who seems to be unable to switch to other styles, just scroll to the style selector at the bottom of each page and
select your favourite style.

yeah, I have to agree here. I'm running at a rather large resolution, and the forums just look like a stick to me... if you're gonne restrict it so it doesn't flow all the way out to the edges, you might wanna do it with % instead of px.
Most of our users are on 800x640 or 1064x768. I was thinking of adding a second default style using % for visitors on higher screen resolutions.
