New addition to the JREF community

Hello all, just thought I'd introduce myself as this is my first post on these forums. Have been reading over the previous threads a little, and it's safe to say that the whaling issue does raise the blood pressure of a few people here.
This is one issue that I feel strongly about too - on one hand I'm a huge fan of all things Japanese, but I can't ignore the needless cruelty that's involved in whale hunting.
I'm just curious to know if there are many Japanese people on these forums who are against the hunting of whales? With demonstrated non-lethal whale research proving to be just as effective as the lethal (and cruel) alternative, I just don't see the point.
I welcome everyone's opinions, but please try and keep responses respectful.

Good call and was also curious as to the JP anti whalers as we see plenty of pro here.

Us "anti's" need as much support as we can get..

I'm sure Rose, sara and Chi will be chipping in..
