Need help getting to Lafayette(LA)

Hi everyone
It's been quite a long time since I posted here but once again I need some help.
My school decided to send me to the University of Louisiana at Lafayette next year and I booked my plane for the wrong airport...
Does anyone know how I can possibly go from Baton Rouge to LaFayette in Louisiana?:?
I can't seem to find any coach service or whatsoever on the web so any hint would be welcomed.

From what I could find, the travel distance is almost 60 miles. In traffic with a meter ticking would cost a bundle I bet. I suspose you have tried to change your ticket with the airline? Landing at the closer airport sure would save you a lot of trouble and probably there is a shuttle there to the college. I could not find anything on bus or trains to LaFayette either, but when you get there someone at the airport would probably help you find local transportation, kind of like Russian Roulette to do that though. Hopefully we have a member who can help you more. Nice to see you back on by the way!

60 miles is not that far, and the road there are very easy to navigate. I would rent a car when you get there and ask the counter help to provide you with a map. The total drive should not take you more than 80 or 90 minutes.

Hummm?? Not positive, but I don't think Dreamer had a driver's licence or credit card to rent a car. When we got together last year, there was some reason he couldn't rent a car, I forget.

You can get there real easy dreamer by Greyhound Bus Lines. Go to the link and type in Baton Rouge, LA to Lafayette, LA. Cost at present is $14.50 and it is only 54 miles. About one hour, and they have about 10 busses departing per day.

You can take a cab from the Airport to the Bus Terminal and since it is only 8.2 miles (see directions and map here), it should not be more than $10 - $15. Just make sure the driver doesn't take you the long route to get a bigger fare.

And here is the route you will take from Baton Rouge to University of Louisiana at Layfayette. It would be useful to have someone meet you at the bus station to take you to the school.

I actually managed to change my tickets to LFT (although I had to pay a few euros). Now I can concentrate on my initial quest: accomodation hunting
