Hello,

I translated a sentence with Google traduction and I would like to know if there's mistakes:
神は、人間の創造自分の欲望を満たすすべてを知っています。

Thank you for your help!

PS: The sentence is: "God has been created by human to fill their desire to know everything."

No, yours is not correct. Expect no less in Google. The closest I can map to in English is this syntax : "God knows everything that fulfills human''s 'creation desire'."

I think Yan was trying to translate "God has been created by human to fill their desire to know everything." into Japanese and what Google came up with was "神は、人間の創造自分の欲望を満たすすべてを知っています。".

The correct Japanese translation would be,

神は、すべてを知りたいという欲望を満たす為に、人間によって創り出されました。

What translator was this ?

Oh, I see. In everyday language, then, "God only knows" (also "神様だけご存知だ。" ？）seems to work in a similar way to "Heaven knows" or "God knows" (誰にも分からない） but may be slightly less emphatic or less idiomatic and thus more limited in its use. At least that is my English analogy.

The correct Japanese translation would be,
神は、すべてを知りたいという欲望を満たす為に、人間によって創り出されました。

Or, not only know everything in a factual sense but really understand it = すべてを理解したい ?? ☝

I suppose when you say, in English AND in Japanese, "to know everything", it has the overtone of "to understand it all" especially in this case where no particular subject is given.

I think it can be read either way. That knowing God facilitates the human need to accumulate earthly knowledge OR that knowing God fulfills/completes man's desire for spiritual understanding.

But that's only my opinion.

In grammatical point of view, 窶堋ｼ is the archaic particle which is called ﾅ淡ﾂ鞘?｢ﾅｽ
In grammatical point of view, ぞ is the archaic particle which is called 係助詞-kakarijoshi-. That is used only in archaic Japanese to emphasize a noun/phrase.
現代では「神のみぞ知る」とか「ここぞとばかり(に)」のように、idiomのように使うくらいでしょうね。

OK, to indicate "everything" in this sentence what I think it really means is to have a desire for spiritual understanding スピリチュアルを知りたい。Not to have complete and absolute knowledge of every thing in the world. Either way, 知るmakes sense, right ?

スピリチュアルな理解 is not captured in idiomatic English which will often overlap with 知る as part of the same verb "to know." That's all I wanted to point out. :sorry:
