my new website: www.kobecityinfo.com

I like it. I have only one suggestion - perhaps add a weather trend page, or add it to a page relevant to tourists as it is invaluable information. There are nice weather trend graphs and stuff on wiki, but it always helps to not have to search around.

Have you been to the Kobe earthquake center/museum? There should be a film re-enacting the earthquake. The quake special effects were directed by Koichi Kawakita, who did the spfx for the Godzilla movies of the 1990s.

I have been to the museum, and if someone is going to Kobe I advice them to check this musuem out.

I bike to kobe Harbor almost every day. If I can remember I'll put up some pics!
That would be great, also if you have time can you have a look at this page. It would be great to have your opinion about Kobe

The new design looks great!

I actually like the picture on a cloudy day. Kobe harbour on a sunny day is always so humid, at least in the summer. Cloudy days are much nicer, a lot cooler in the summer so I always enjoyed them more!
It sure can be hot here (it is today ), so also I like Kobe on a cloudy day in summer time. But a sunny day in spring is just perfect, walking around in the Harborland area!

The new design will also introduce a couple of new pages, including a weather page. I am still looking for the Java scrip to post the current Japanese time, but I haven't looked into that yet.

Thank you guys for the great comments.

Great website D_B!

Many thanks for that - you brought back many happy memories for me. Kobe sure is one of the loveliest places i've ever been to, let alone worked in and lived near.

I forget where Meriken park is, is it the one where they have the Luminarie (sp?) and the clock with the flowers (the one about the earthquake I believe)?

And can I ask you where Starbucks is? Is it in the Daiei biru?

About the website:

1) I have some nice pictures of the harbour you'd be welcome to use if you like.

2) The orange on the site made me a little uncomfortable, (but probably it's just me - I am rather colour-sensitive )

3) The Welcome Ticket sounded great - but has the promotion already finished?

4) On one page the text was cut off by the bottom of the page (I think it was one of the personal stories).

5) You need to update your copyright notice - it only says till 2006.

6) Maybe it'd be cool to have a small section about places that are easily reached from Kobe - Shukugawa, Nishinomiya (for the Tigers, mochiron!) and perhaps even Himeji. You just need one or two pics and a short description, think that'd be pretty cool.

Sorry, I don't mean to sound critical - the site's great! - just some ideas.

Ah, I shall be reunited with my beloved Hanshin soon

I kind of thought you gave up on the site ;-)

LoL, you just had to make a comment

I had no time for it before, but I really want to pick up up again that's why.

Good thing to hear you are going to continue working on it And yes, I just had to ;p

Well I have updated all the pages into the new design, so let me know what you think of it, if you have some advice, or see some dead links, etc.

Onegai shimasu.

I have uploaded some new photo's, and changed to a flash slideshow instead of clicking to other pages the whole time.
I still want to add descriptions, and want add photo's to the "other section" and the "Rokko/port Island" section. What do you guys think?
KobeCityinfo.com is available at DomainMarket.com

Nice photos! The flash slideshow is a really good function, its fun to browse through them!

Thanks, I do hope to add more photo's in the near future.
Looks good but sometimes people just want to select the photos from thumbnails rather than look through all of them.

Here is a site you can get a widget for your weather and time for Kobe.
http://www.weatherforecastmap.com/buscar.phtml
I know, but I just wanted to get ride of the cheap thumbnails and the from page to page browsing first.

I do hope to find something or to be able to make something with flash to add thumbnails as well.

They are pretty cool Hezam, I will check it out a bit more when I have the time.

Any tips on what else I can place on my website? I still have to add new sightseeing spots, and the price and opening times of the restaurants, shops, and hotels... but what else?

Good website . Well done !
I can't open the web of story ,maybe sth. wrong with the internet . I will try later ,thank for sharing your website

After being online for 5 years I have decided to close this website because I do not have the time to update it. I enjoyed making this website and I learned a lot about the city of Kobe. I really recommend everyone to come and visit Kobe because it is a great city with kind and modern people, MT. Rokko, foreign history, a great China town and lots more.

The content of the website will be party moved to the Jref website.

Thank you all for visiting kobecityinfo.com and for your support.

Aww, too bad!
A website about Kobe sounds interesting, but I understand.
I rarely get to update my blog either.
