That said, I agree people should be able to voluntarily join together with others for whatever purpose they desire that does not harm others, including forming things such as countries and/or nations.
I believe Elizabeth is correct. Probably especially out in the water.
I would choose the one with the corporate logos in the star field above the others I mentioned. It shows where I reside, yet is more specific than just "I am distressed".
Countries are political, on a map. And are not permanent like continents or oceans. So there is a bit of imagination going into forming them. The United States was one day formed. And the Soviet Union isn't around any more. Using the logic of the formation ideology (or whatever) of the US, no country is in existence as a force of nature or with a god's blessing. They are formed by humans, in part, in our imagination. And given freedom of thought one can certainly attribute different meanings to existing flags and see countries under different lights. So using the corporate logo certainly is in par with US ideology.
Anyway, I doubt the icon would be made available, if it were actually available. And, I guess I would understand moderators reasoning. And I suppose I could just find said flag jpg and put it as my avatar.
