Unfortunately I don't think it quite works in the English. Although the 'poking dubiously' could be /either/ the electrician being dubious about the state of the wires or you being dubious about about the way the electrician is poking. :?

Anyway moving on. Another room description.

Card Room(#629)

A small smoky room, with a large green table at the middle. In the middle of the table, you see a collection of chips piled up, undoubtably used for playing poker. In the midst of the smoke, you can see a bartender serving drinks to the gamblers.

I like 疑いようがない, must remember to use that more often.

Wedding Church Entry(#11468)

Directly ahead of you, completly built in marble, there's a huge, gothic style Church. An enormous door, with an oval shaped top, allows you to access the interior of this majestic building. The mahogany doors, extremely well conserved, decorated with bas-relief give you a slight idea of what may be inside. Surrounding the Church there's a fresh green grass field, which you can use to give long, relaxing strolls. Aproaching closer to the door you notice that the inside is very calm and silent making this the perfect spot for a spiritual retreat.

Wedding Church

Hmm, I think probably ある ... at least in America. :D

Google knows best - I'll just check.

... Google says yes - but not very loudly. 9,180 for "wedding church" much of which are false hits but a fair proportion appear to be the 'real thing'.

[I might not have time to check your post properly for a while]
[EDIT] OK checked it - another very smooth bit of text.

<- I really should have thought of that. :p

Long time no post ...

There seems to be some disagreement as to whether it's ザ・アント or ジ・アント...

The_Ant's Nest(#11464)

These are The_Ant's domains. His resting place, and where he usually hangs out. It's a featureless room, with a desk, where a computer running GNU/Linux's distribution Fedora Core 1.0 is always switched on. It has a nice sound system where The_Ant listens to his favourite CDs. Next to the table, to the right is a bookshelf with all the books nicely ordered, and catalogued. A quite confortable chair is in front of the desk. A map is hung in the left wall.
There are several exits, leading to other rooms of the building and to other areas of MOOsaico.

GNU/Linux's Fedora Core 1.0

I'm not so sure about アント氏. He uses "The_Ant" as his name, so, as a proper name, I think it should be literally represented. (Maybe just stick to "The_Ant" in the Japanese title ...)
wakaP said:

:p But I think we should stick to 'ザ・アント' or 'ジ・アント' for the reasons I've stated above.

Hmm, after all the time I took to check the katakana you think You're probably right at that. 😌

Well thank you very much for your translation (I really should have thought of 聴く for music listening).

This is a short description, but the first part is pretty difficult.

Rooms(#177)

Here, in a topologically unlikely happenstance, is a room full of rooms. Who created such a place you don't know but they could be pretty useful. You notice all of the rooms have the desirable property of being recreated and changed as you wish.

Thanks for the help, now I'm going to watch an anime. 🙂

Another short one, not too difficult I think.

I hope you might give it a once over.

Thank you again - maybe this one really _is_ easier. 😌

Note that we're now implementing Japanese text aliases for the commands so @quit and @やめる will do the same thing.

========

Syntax: @quit

Disconnect from the MOO. This breaks your network connection and leaves your user sleeping. Disconnecting in most parts of the MOO automatically returns your user to its designated home (see 'help home').

I think @終了 should be better than @やめる.

Does やめる sound as if you're giving up for good then?

wakaP said:

Now there's a reason I 'loosely' interpretted this bit - but I'm not sure if that reason was correct.

What I was concerned about was whether ネットワーク接続を切る (or 切断 etc.) would imply your (general) Internet connection rather than just the connection between you and the MOO. What do you think?

wakaP said:
Oops, I've only just had that word pointed out to me and I already missed a chance to use it.

I think this is a bit tricky - basically you will (theoretically) be able to type either
help home
or
to get the help displayed. That was what I was trying to imply.
Do you think (help home または、ヘルプ ホームを参照のこと) would be better in that case?

[There was going to be a new ありがとう smilie here - but I can't find a decent gif editor]

PaulTB said:

No, it doesn't. But I recommend "終了" because it is usually used for "Quit" in the menu of OS or applications.

I see. I understand what you say and agree with you.
Now, I propose deleting "ネットワーク接続は切断され" part.

Okay, I propose (ホームについてのヘルプを参照のこと:'help home'と入力).

Now here's a really short one ... a tricky bit is what is meant by 'along the slope'. I think (probably) this means sort of along the height contour, e.g. not up the slope or down the slope but at right angles to both. However I don't think that's how you put it in Japanese. 😌

By the way I appreciate the help but if you get fed up with me feel free to tell me so 😌

洞門 is used much. See the result of google. But you'll find most of those are used as a proper noun. In this case, 洞窟の入り口 would be better.

Here's hoping. 😌

Meanwhile here's some more FREE material for you to consider if you wish. (It's from the help text this time, and a bit longer).

help movement

The descriptions of most rooms outline the directions in which exits exist. Typical directions include the eight compass points ('north', 'south', 'east', 'west', 'northeast', 'southeast', 'northwest', and 'southwest'), 'up', 'down', and 'out'.

To go in a particular direction, simply type the name of that direction (e.g, 'north', 'up'). The name of the direction can usually be abbreviated to one or two characters (e.g., 'n', 'sw'). You can also type 'go <direction>' to move; this is particularly useful if you know you're going to type several movement commands in a row (see 'help go').

In addition to such vanilla movement, some areas may contain objects allowing teleportation and almost all areas permit the use of the 'home' command to teleport you to your designated home (see 'help home' for more details).

As a last resort you can always type '@ways' to get the obvious exits.

大抵、その出口は('north' (北), 'south' (南), 'east' (東), 'west' (西), 'northeast' (北東), 'southeast' (南東), 'northwest' (北西), and 'southwest' (南西))の8方角と'up' (上), 'down' (下), and 'out' (出る)にあります。

help movement

north' (北), 'south' (南), 'east' (東), 'west' (西), 'northeast' (北東), 'southeast' (南東), 'northwest' (北西), 'southwest' (南西)の8方位と'up' (上へ), 'down' (下へ), and 'out' (外へ)がその典型例です。

You visited MOOsaico? You should have said, I'd have tried to get online at the same time.

I expect that you wouldn't have been able to type Japanese as that takes some rather fiddly setting up at present. :sorry:

It looks good - I'll have to spend some time considering it now to increase the chance I'll remember this stuff next time I write one. 😌
