Monbukagakusho Undergraduate, about dorm and mentors

I have some questions concerning accommodations. Does monbukagakusho pay for dormitory, do I have to look for it myself? or do I have to look for an apartment? or do they provide apartment? ok, I am totally confused. Please help.

Also, will I have a mentor? because I don`t know any Japanese and it will be hard in the first days of arrival. can I rely on help from MEXT?

Which level of scholarship are you asking about? Undergraduate or masters?

If it's undergrad, For the first year at the language institutions, you'll stay at the dorms for international students where you'll pay your rent from the allowance they give you. I'm not sure if that's the case when you join university, but you can also look for your own apartment if you wish which of course requires higher rents.

Mext is there to take care of your needs, both academic and also your lifestyle. I don't see why you should worry much. You'll have mentors on your first day of arrival and at least you won't feel so lost. Well that's what I've learned from previous mext scholars on the internet.

Hello,

I would like to know that, in the first year (the preparatory school for undergrad students) is the dorm already arranged for us or we can stay at other international dorms if we want to? Thank you

as nijo said, accommodation in dorm will be arranged for first year undergrads, but you can stay somewhere else if you want to. or you can first come to dorm and move out any time.

Thank you Since I've nothing to do but wait so I kind of thinking about these stuffs. It would cost more to stay out of campus anyway.
