Hi guys
Hi, I'm new here. Name's LingFan. I'm one of the applicants this year and received 'THE' call from Ms Yin on Tuesday.
Hope we can get to know each other and work towards realising our dreams. I think most of those that pass the interview should be able to end up there if no any unforseen circumstances. I'm quite worried bout the odds, Ms Yin did say that 70%-95% of those will pass the Feb final round. But the statistics may vary from year to year, and the range is so wide, 70 - 95%, 70% is like quite risky.
anyway, lets keep our fingers crossed. I've checked with my friend who already got the scholarship and is in his 4th year there, usually after August, the interview and medical checkup, there will be no news straight till next year's Feb.
I'm also very concern about the uni application and whether i should apply to a few profs and a few unis just to be safe. But i heard from my friends in japan that it's disrespectful if we apply to a few profs at the same time, it shows that we somehow lack faith in them, some of them may not be happy and not take us seriously.
Another concern is TOEFL, some schools do require TOEFL but I checked with Ms Yin and she say not necessarily, so i'm still waiting to get the final confirmation from uni. (TOEFL is more common in japan compared to IELTS)
So much for my first post =p have been babbling non stop
hope to hear from you guys soon.
And if there's an Andrew here from USM applied biology, would like to here from you. (We met during the interview).
