MEXT Undergraduate Scholarship Questions.

Hey everyone!,
My name is Justin, I'm 16 and a Sophomore in my 2nd year of high school.
I'm really interested in this Scholarship and have now made it my goal to receive this scholarship in 2 years time.

Anyways, I'll be applying for 2012 and i wanted to ask some people who have received the scholarship some questions...

1.According to Housing, Where will i be staying? Will i be living on a campus at an International Hall or Dormitory. Just because i would like to have some idea of the housing situation.

2.Is there a cost for Books and Fees and taxes? If so could you give an estimate of how much this may run me back?

3.I know that i have to go through a screening process sometime after i send in the application. I wanted to ask anybody who has taken the screenings how hard they are (according to tests and questions asked)

4.I do know on one of the tests there is a Japanese part of the Exam. I have NO Japanese Language skill whatsoever! So will a failing score on that test deter my chances of receiving the scholarship?

I have other questions but for now i will keep my mouth shut until these questions are answered.

Application Questions

Hello everyone
I new to the community and would like to send out warm greetings to all existing members.

I'm currently applying for the 2010 intake for the Monbukagakusho Scholarship for their undergraduate program, the problem is my deadline date for submitting my application is due May 29th, 2009! As you can see I have a bit of a problem as it is already May 20th, 2009!
So I was wondering if anyone can answer a few of my questions regarding the application form ;

1. Copy - Do I need to make a copy of everything I submit and place it in the envelope?
2. Application - Someone told me that I need to insert the universities of my desired choice on the application form but the problem is I don't see any designated space for such content, is it suppose to be written on a separate sheet of paper or does the embassy decide that for me based on my goal of study?
3. Attachment - I went to my embassy's website and got my application form, but the problem is that its the same from as my attachment form! Is it suppose to be like that or did they post the wrong link? If so can someone please instruct me as to where I can download the correct attachment form please?

I dont get why we have to do a japanese test when they offer 1year intense study of japanese language. Well, i know some japanese . i Can speak it but i cant read. LOLZ thats the only problem..

I do not think just 1 year course of Japanese from scratch would get you to the level to study at universities... I believe you need to be certain level of proficiency before taking the intensive course.

not yet, no. undergraduate result are scheduled to be announced sometime between january and february. (for some countries, december) And knowledge of Japanese is important because you are going to attend academic level courses and will have to speak & read enough to manage daily life. So, someone with knowledge of japanese is likelier to win rather than one without it. But still, if your other exams are high enough, you can be chosen without it.

I want to start the application process but I'm not sure whats my deadline date or what mission I apply to....Any help...!!!

Your ministry of education would advertise on their site about the MEXT scholarship or you could go to the embassy site.
