Actually, I don't think it sounds bad at all. We're people and allowed to make mistakes. I think if you just present it right it'll help you in the interview, after all, one of the things they want to know is that you really want this scholarship, really want to study in Japan. So your decision making proses went through South Korea, it's not a big deal as long as you found out what it is that you really want. Personally, I think it's a brave thing to do, not many people dare to leave something safe to try and fulfill their dreams when they don't know what the chances of success are. I don't think you should feel embarrassed at all.I have my interview tomorrow, I don't know why but I just can't seem to stop feeling afraid.
In my opinion, I have a big weakness in my CV. I resigned from my workplace in January and went for South Korea to pursue my master degree, such an irony, by the time I'm in Korea and interacted with some students from another country, I found out that it were their dream to study in Korea and they had a concrete goal of their study, not just a simple graduated and received their master degree.
By that time I realized and feel shame because I don't have any resolution even close to them and then I remember what I really want is to pursue my study in Japan and in the field that I like. So after two months in Korea and really hard decision, I apologize to my Professor and went back to my country to apply for MEXT, I focus all my time to draft my research proposal and to find Professor to supervised me.
And here I am, I apply for MEXT with my current status as an unemployed person. I'm really happy to know that I have the opportunity for interview, I just can't help to feel nervous because I'm not planning to hide my past mistake in tomorrow's interview, I don't know whether I will dig my own grave by telling that.
Sorry for the long post, I just want to share my story to feel better. Anyway Good luck to all of us
hmm... im not quite sure how the emails when to spam box. but once, i send an email to many people (1 email send to many). one of the recipient is my lecturer and it turns out that my email when to his spam box. so there is a chance that uni mails are quite strict. do u send the email to many?
There is a question that I'd like to ask... Do you think if it is advisable to submit our replies from the professor to the embassy now when the interview is already over? Like in the case of tomayto and miao. (Uhm.. Ms. Yin, should I call you?)
No...no, i sent one by one, and every email sent in different time different day (not in the same time).
tomayto, what i meant was... I sent to the professors, and the professors replied, but the professors' emails sent to my mailbox's Spam. Not that my emails go to their spam (but now i think it may happen since some professors didn't reply). Altogether i got 5 replies, two negative mails (i mentioned previously) sent to my Inbox. the other 3 positive mails sent to my Spam (which i just discovered yesterday... fortunately i didn't clean my Spam before clicking into it).
so funny, my mailbox seems like trying to fool me by differentiating the positive and negative email?!
are you using @hotmail.com? @yahoo.com? just curious
by the way, i'm going to reply the professors with research proposal. Is it alright if i send them the research proposal i submitted in MEXT application (with details of present field of study, research theme, study program in detail)? or i shouldn't?
