JREF meet in Shiga--May 2007
On Thursday, May 3rd, one day before the big JREF meet in Shiga, I got a mail from Mike Cash on my cellphone--he would be at the Akashina station at 4:10. On that same day, my neighborhood would be holding the annual 'ohanami' (cherry blossom viewing party) and I wanted to at least show my face...

Years back I had a member visit Maine and I spent a few days with him showing him around the tourist spots. My wife and I went to the Smithsonian in D.C. and a member there gave us a behind the scenes tour. We then went to lunch at a place next to the White House and watched the President's helicopter land with him in it which was cool. My wife and I also went to Boston to see a member's daughter play in a small band . Being in Maine has not given me much chance to meet many members, It's seems funny to say , but just talking everyday to members here over the internet makes you feel like they are close family.
