Hello,
If possible could you please help me with こうてやろう meaning in the sentences below:

「これは つるのはごろも。よにもめずらしい たからのぬのじゃ。
すぐに こうてやろう
わかものは ひゃくりょうの こばんを せおって かえりみちを いそいだ。

I would translate whole sentences as:

It is crane's birds. Cloth's treasure which is very rare. Now, lets do in this way.
Young man, returned home lately, carrying 100 coins on his back.

But I am not not sure what こうてやろう could express.

Thank you very much. :sorry:

This is crane's plumage (clothe). It's so very rare, a clothe of treasure.
I'll buy it right away.
The young man hurried home with 100 ryou worth gold coins on his back.

はごろも is a clothe made of feathers; sometimes it refers to the clothe worn by angels (people from the heaven) and it is believed that はごろも enables them to fly without wings.

undrentideさん、

Thank you very much for your perfect explanation.

May I ask little bit more about おそい. I have read that it may express "lately" or "slow".
But none of those terms seems fit correct translation, and I am little bit unclear about the meaning.

Thank you very much!

Ooops, sorry, I seem to have overlooked the typo - I'm very much sure that it should read

"to hurry"

I'm sure it's a typo/misread of そいだ. :)

Incidentally, 両[りょう] is a currency unit in Edo period .(It's said that 1 ryou is nearly equivalent to 100,000 yen. Thus, he earned 10 million yen!!! )

I am very sorry for yet another typo mistake. Indeed, it should be いそぐ.

Thank you very much for your kind help.
