Martial Arts?

hello to all the cool people here (you know who you are) .

I have a question involving martial arts.

Is their a place in japan where a gaijin can train in the art of the ninja? cause i would love to find a place where i could train

cause i was thinking that no gaijins could train in the following martial arts (Samurai and ninjistu).

I thought this cause i those martial arts would be kept to japanese people only.

I DO NOT MEAN TO OFFEND ANY PEOPLE HERE WITH THIS POST AND IF YOU ARE OFFENDED AM SORRY.

prolly not...and I don't think there are ppl training ninja's anymore...just as the fact for Samurai they're obsollete these days

Yes, its pretty hard for people to get trained into all this. But i think they are still some trainers about in isolated mountains in japan...

Well, there are a few masters around here teaching actual historical European martial arts: longbow, sword, lance, horsemanship, full-body unarmed combat etc, so I suppose there are still Japanese teaching their historical martial arts too.

Though I imagine you'd be quite dissapointed by them. The ninja of actual history were a very different affair from the ninja of popular modern myth. As were Samurai. And Knights for that matter.

Off topic: The only real difference between Asian and European martial arts (deriving from The Arts of Mars by the way), is that we've generally forgotten most of our 'real' battle ready fighting styles, and are left now with only their sanitised sporting decendents such as Fencing and Boxing.
Oh, and European arts tended to be very freestyle. We didn't really have any rival styles so to speak, just a colloquial fighting art, which included most of the techniques seen in Asian styles. A Knight (or indeed any number of European elite warriors throughout the ages, right up into modern times) could punch, kick, throw, trip, restrain, dissarm, etc, just as good as any Samurai.

"Ninja" arts? 99.9% of everything written about ninjas and ninjutsu is bunk. To a serious martial artist, it's almost a like a joke. None the less, there are many people who claim to teach ninjitsu. Perhaps the two most famous people are Stephen K. Hayes and Masaaki Hatsumi. Both have written tons of books, and I'm sure if you do an internet search you'll find alot. Stephan "studied" under Masaaki in the 80's and made a ton of money popularizing the ninja back in America. Hayes still runs a chain of martial art studios in America, although he no longer calls it ninjutsu. Masaaki still heads the main dojo in Japan, but no longer personally teaches. A friend of mine who took lessons here in Japan claims it is legit, but I remain skeptical. Now, before you run off and decide to become a ninja you should seriously check out all of your options. Personally, I advise anyone interested in martial arts to go study aikido. But whatever you do, for god's sake don't do it half-assed.

I thank you for your help and i agree with you saying, about most stuff about the ninja its all bs. yes i have heard of aikido (the way of the Harmonious Sprit). It is very interesting i will learn as much as possible about many martial arts to broaden my horizons and for me to advance in the world and become someone.

if i may i state a question here, let me please introduce my matter: i have
done wing tsun for a couple of years but now for a bunch of reasons i am
looking for a new martial art, which i can practice for a lifetime. therefor i am
currently wighing up the pros and cons of different schools carefully.
i have reached the conclusion that modern jiu jutsu would best suit my
needs, but naturally aikido was in consideration as well. now since you seem
to be adept in this question, could you advise me on the advantages of aikido
over, lets say jiu jitsu?

Become a "BIO HITMAN"! Use agents to kill that mimic a natural death. A delayed effect death gives you time to set up an alibi. What better way to escape capture then to have a death labled "by natural causes" so you are not a suspect. Only you and the person who hired you will ever know! You could have a neat "bio-hazzard symbol"
as a tatoo or on you special business cards! Get a job with an agency like the CDC and you could get the latest training and have access to the most dangerous substances in existance. Whe would suspect a mild mannered scientist as a world famous hitman?

Their is accually an art called ninpo or nimpo i am not sure how you spell it it is the best form of ninja i have seen yet if you become good enough they teack you how to make homemade flashbangs, peppermace, ya know all the stuff that ninjas use also if you become the best they teach you the sacred art of kujakiti it is your direct link to the spirit world. but the teach you how to be stealthy how to throw shrukins and how to use a sword on top of hand to hand martial art combat which is concentrated on the twisting and breaking of bones and pressure points. if you look up info you could probally find alot more than what i can tell you.

Wow...

I thought I would get flack from other people because I go along with you and offer sugestions. I never thought you would get upset with my ideas.You can't be a sucess if you get caught. The study of death & destruction was a hobby of mine for over 20 years. As you get older , you lose interest in killing , at least I have. Now I work on saving lives and enjoy it; I haven't forgot the evil things I learned though. Sorry you don't appreciate my comments!

you really got me interested in bujinkan, since i am looking for a new martial
arts anyways i decided to go to our local ninjutsu school in hamburg,
germany. its called "ninjutsu academy" and is led by moshe kastiel who was a
personal scholar of dr. hatsumi.

they also have an awesome site with great pictures of soke dr. masaaki
hatsumi and sifu takamatsu. click on "dojo" on the site to see moshe kastiel
and hist scholar charlie schacht.

btw i just noticed: so i am a persian who wants to learn an
ancient japanese art here from a jew and we are both in germany.
lol, how small this world has become. the academy is incredible btw, i was there
today and from now on i hope ill be there every day.

I think the art of ninjutsu is pretty much dead in terms of being instructed as it was once. No one is going to teach you these days how to snap a jugular or throw a tip poisoned shuriken. Today it has become mainly like any other martial art, a way of gaining self control and discipline.
