Au revoir, Beast of blood and Bel Air are my favourite songs from them , and Illuminati is my favourite video
 
Wouldn't been cool if Malice Mizer had done a music video with the costumes from this photoshoot.

Illuminati was the first PV I saw of MM and it kinda threw me for a loop. On one hand it;s too good for words, on the other it was more low budget than I expected for a VK band. lol I think that was the first thing that made me begin to wonder for Mana's pocket book.

XD I love how everyones hair in those pics looks all ratted out and over dyed and then kami's shows up and looks oh so silky. hee hee

Er, I keep up with Kozi when i can, i mean I buy his stuff when I see it and really like it but i can say for certain that kami's not releasing anything else seeing that he died in the 90's.
 
This is going to sound like a stupid question, but exactly what genre does Malice Mizer go under?:? Seriously, its hard to figure out because you can't just call them rock when you hear that song Ju Te Veux, and you can't call them pop when you hear Beast of Blood, and in the Bara no Seidou CD its all opera! And don't forget about Color me Blood Red it sounds kind of techno. Then theirs those Malice Mizer classical songs like Saikai no Chi to Bara and Zencho. So what is Malice Mizer classified as, because from the way I'm hearing their stuff, it's everything.

Um, I just stache them under vk, while refering to their appearance vk bands so have a certain sound. Other than that I call them orchistrated metal. Theyre very orchestra metal like in the things they do. I wouldnt really consider their time with gackt as a defining movement in saying which genera they beling too because when gackt came they kinda went waaay off what theyre normal sound was and as soon as he left they obvioulsy went back to a sound that they thought really represented them.
 
I don't really think they returned to the sound "that really represented them" after Gackt left. I think all their sounds represented them because they were trying to show, through their music, what is really human. In trying to answer the question to what is really human, they had to show many different sides because humans are complex and have many different facets. Hence the songs of sadness, romance, anger, love, happiness, etc...

I agree but I was basing my statement off of an interview where mana says that malice mizer will be returning to their sound after gack left/ In many ways I think gackt was good for them but I always thought that the different types of musicthey wanted to produce were too different.

Kozi released a new album on May 17. (Loki n' Roll)
Who knows if Kami had a hand in it somewhere - the drumming is pretty good.

There is going to be released a rerelease of the first MM singles collection (not including instrumentals). Details here if anyone has the urge to splurge! :joyful:

On the topic of Kami, has anyone seen the duets with Kami on drums and Gackt on piano? One's called Regret, and the other is called Hamon/Kyosokyoku, I think.
They are so beautiful. I miss Kami!

Kami is such a talented drummer!

I miss him too.
 
It was 7th anniversary of Kami's death on Wednesday 21st.

I didn't actually find that out until the following day. It was a bit strange, because, after not really thinking all that often of Kami lately, on Wednesday I suddenly found myself feeling particularly sad and melancholy, and thinking, "I miss Kami... well, I don't actually miss him as I never knew the guy... but I bet his friends all miss him, and think of him... I wonder when his anniversary is?" And then the next day I found out that it had been that day.

Anyway, I cannot for long feel too sad to remember Kami, somehow... *sigh*



*cough* This is slightly away now... I was wondering, I have sometimes seen where Kozi wears a butterfly ring slightly like to the rings that Kami is wearing in the above picture. And I wondered, since Kami wears so many in that one photoshoot! whether he afterwards gave one to the other members of Malice Mizer. Do you think, maybe?
For example, here in this picture you can see Kozi is wearing a butterfly ring, but I can't tell if it's the same type as Kami's or not. And I've seen it more recently as well...
 
Whoa, I've never noticed that before, but they DO look like the same ring. That would be wonderful if he gave one to all the other members! Now I'm going to have to pay attention to their hands in every picture I find for those butterfly rings...I'll post them if I find any.
