Could any one please provide me the procedure for making Big Japanese Lanterns ?

Probably not so different from the way to make the small ones.

提灯（ちょうちん）の作り方 / 東京上野【提灯の高山商店】

Although I think the lanterns in the third picture would be the Chinese ones.

which paper do I have to use? Rice paper or ordinary paper?

Washi is usually used.

Oh Gosh I have to search my entire city to get the washi paper. I searched for a long time and then i found the shop with sells Rice Paper.
