Hello -
My daughter will be having her 10th birthday party on November 3rd and is crazy about Tamago in all its many forms.
I'm looking for an omelet chef - doesn't have to be a professional - to come and make some for the girls at the party. I don't think it's really a 'cooking class' as I don't know how interested the girls will be in how to make it - perhaps not at all. But it will be a nice evening and a lot of fun. We have most if not all of the equipment, need only the chef. We live in New York City. If you know of anyone who would like to do this for an hour or two they can contact me directly.
Try calling your local Japan American Society for a lead; I think there is a branch in New York. Another way to go , is contact local Japanese restaurants near you for ideas.Maybe a local cooking school near you might help.

My Tamagoyaki is definitely not professional grade, not even grandma-grade, but I may have to whip it into shape.... There are some great videos on YouTube but in truth given my very limited culinary skills they've seemed somewhat intimidating. If anyone wants to come by though to sample my training omelets they're more than welcome.
