The sad result of the survey reported in this article is that fewer Japanese students of both sexes have had their 'first kiss' by the time they leave high school, probably brought on by reduced social intercourse. In response, more students appear to be engaging in solitary pleasures.

 
Sadly, there doesn't seem to be much "platonic kissing" (as in between family members) either. Add it to the school curriculum.
