where's inertia? i was hoping she could have more information on this. i can't understand anything on the 2ch forums.

nekkyo, i hope you can get that translation up for us, though i pretty much understood it already. kamijo's message was so sad, how lareine was everything to him, and well ah! i'm gonna cry again!!!!

and nobody i know here understands why this upsets me so much! i'm so depressed! i can't think straight while i'm at work either.
 
My friend Ryan gave me permission to post this for you guys. He wants me to let you know that it is not perfect since he translated it at 2 AM and the Japanese was fairly complex.

LAREINE once disbanded, the project called RIBBON passed, and LAREINE returned. I never imagined that the winds of change would blow this way, but I think we should honestly look to the future.
I don't know when I'll stand on a stage again, but when that time comes, but I think I'd wager my life that I will.
When I look back, ever since I broke out of my cocoon, I was reborn with LAREINE -- when Machi was there, it was the original (literally, "without one ingredient changed") LAREINE. First half a year of lives and recordings, then half a year of experiencing RIBBON, even with a little of LAREINE's arrangements, we left the world many songs. (that's probably the easiest way to translate that, lol)
Personally, I think they were a lot of very distinct, different musical projects.
Wow, someday again I'll return to that cocoon and want to make LAREINE's songs and do lives, and someday in the future, with a smile, I want to return to the talented world of LAREINE!

At the time when Mayu wrote "LAST SONG FOR YOU," it was a premonition of misfortune. That song was supposed to be for Kazumi. The time of "Fierte" was the same. So I didn't publish the song that held such a truly pivotal element. It came true, though. An artist may do that for self-expression. But that prophet-like misfortune was also there, so we also had the responsibility of controlling the life of the people who listened to those lyrics.
To start with, this activity cessation is very close to a disbandment. LAREINE's activity is decidedly not just something brilliant. If it seemed brilliant, and you can certainly say so, there were also ugly thorns. But the flower petals that wholeheartedly extended a hand to hide that lining... No, the flower petals that protected those thorns were blown away by the wind. (I love how poetic he is even in his disbandment message. -_-) LAREINE does not need thorns that are more than LAREINE. Thus LAREINE has reached an eternal sleep.

OMG ..........why must all the bands that i like have to disband somewhere along the way......geez...... lareine is a very unique band and has influenced me alot on my path of music.

what happened to Mayu? why is he disappaered? i like lareine alot but i'm not really up to date with their news. gosh now i more regret I didn't go to third stage to buy Winter Romantic when i was in tokyo 2 months ago.

i really wish they ain't disbanding, but i guess it's gonna happen for sure since it's on their home page..... Winter ROmantic was really well done so i was really waiting for their next release.....but man..... :( :( i've liked lareine since the day i heard Fuyu Tokyo about 3-4 yrs ago and since then lareine has been one of my favs...:( :(
 
I haven't been online because I've been on vacation in the US since Thursday. I only just got to a place where I could check the internet last night, and I was feeling so ill from travel stress that I didn't get online until this morning.

My apologies, but while Ryan's translation is very helpful, I don't like the way he phrased some things in his translation of Lareine's announcement. The actual Japanese message does NOT contain the word "disband," which to me, in the context of the way Lareine has done things historically, is an important point. There is a word in Japanese for "disband," but instead of using it, Lareine chose a word which is more like "cancelling/suspending activity." That's why in Kamijo's rather glum message, he says that it's close to disbanding, instead of that they actually are disbanding. He's very pessimistic, but they're not closing the door completely.

This might sound really bad, but in a way I'm relieved that they made this announcement. Neither Kamijo nor Emiru has been able to do much during this time that Mayu's been gone, and I'd rather they put Lareine on hold officially so that they could pursue other musical projects instead of remaining more or less completely inactive for who knows how long. It's kinda callous of me, and I'm sorry. But I'm a fan from when Lareine was indies before, and I thought it was the end of the world in spring 2000 when they announced the 3 members leaving... and then, Kamijo made a wonderful CD on his own, New Sodmy did some fantastic work, and then finally Lareine rose from the ashes like a phoenix. Maybe this time it's really the end for Lareine, but as for the music I love, I don't believe that's finished yet. So I'm going to wait patiently and see what happens.

Hizaki is going to be the session guitarist for their last live (I read it on JaME francais). It made me sad inside to read it in words... but at least they will have good guitaring.

maybe hizaki should join lareine, since their musical concepts are similar.....then at least we'll have kamijo emiru and hizaki...... :(

I just got back from seeing Phantasmagoria and I'm too tired to try to translate, so here's a quick summary of the Tuesday post. Kamijo said that today until the morning (er, Monday night) he and Kanoma were having a meeting about the Xmas event and that he thought he'd sleep, but it's Metis Gretel's CD release live. If he slept, he'd miss the live, so he's just going to go. (after writing a plug for their CD release concerts, that is...) And he also wrote about how when they were recording "Blue Romance," they would pull all-nighters every day and leave more than 10 packs of cigarettes on the table. They smoked too much.

The picture in the Wednesday post is from Tuesday.

Kamijo mentioned the 3-day Xmas event this summer at his birthday live, as a big event that Lareine was going to do. But at that time, he also said that he was considering doing solo work. I've been assuming the Xmas shows will now be event lives (multiple bands) with Kamijo doing solo project stuff. It would be cool if he sang with Kanoma, though. I remember when they sang "Baroque" together at the 2nd Dis Inferno. Their voices sounded really nice together. ^_^
 
😭 😭 😭 Ohhh, my God I was dying of sadness for about 30 seconds from when I read that translation till I read the post Inertia did... I almost die 😭 😭 Now she kind of calm me down, but I'm still sooo sad... 😭 Why?? Why are all great bands breaking up?? First Pierrot, now Lareine... they're ones of the first japanese bands I ever heard... I love them both soo much... 😭 😭 I don't want Lareine to go away......... and kamijo's message 😭 😭 😭 ooh, god, sooooo sad, it's too much... yeah, I know I'm not like the biggest lareine fan but... I really do love it... this just ruined my day

im sad over the break up... really sad, it was news that i wish i would never hear, but im sorta relieved to hear that kamijo may be doing some solo work. hehehe that means, there may be another album like scream! and if thats the case, then please, hurry up kamijo and make another solo album =D

well as someone said here before, the last time lareine broke up they came back. maybe they'll reunite in the future, who knows...

does anyone know exactly why mayu is missing since july?

He's talking about shampoo in the first part. California Kuukou (airport) might be the name of a shampoo that he was using for a long time -- I've never heard of it, but the sentence doesn't make sense unless it's a shampoo. Tsubaki (camellia), the one he was using for a few months before that, is a fairly new type of shampoo that you can find in any drugstore. He said he tried horse shampoo when his hair was long, but stopped after one time.

The "blue soup" is Aojiru, a drink made from green leaves that's supposed to be very healthy.

I think he's saying that he likes the taste, although nobody else does...? His pronouns are confusing and I'm not sure who it is that likes aojiru so much that his hair is turning aojiru-color.

I've tried aojiru from the supermarket and thought it was kinda tasty, although maybe it only tasted okay because the manufacturer added artificial flavorings to cover up how cheaply made the juice was. But maybe that cheap and tasty aojiru is the same one that Kamijo tried.

I think he just means he was using shampoo from the california airport for a long time. 😄 It doesn't seem like that long of a time to me, but....how long DOES a bottle of shampoo last a guy with short hair, anyway? ^^;
You can buy horse shampoo in beauty supply stores like Sally's. I've used it before, but didn't really see any difference in my hair. I've always wondered if it was REALLY horse shampoo like the kind you'd get at feed stores or if it was regular human shampoo and they just changed the label. 😊

The Raika phone lines are probably going to be a madhouse on the 29th. >_< I hate when tickets go on sale by Raika phone reservation! It always turns out that I spend an hour and a half dialing and re-dialing non-stop, and by the time my phone call actually goes through I've become so bored and accustomed to the busy signal, that when there's finally a real person on the line I've forgotten what it was I wanted to say to them.

I think Kamijo's producing Hizaki's album, recording it at Applause Records Studio, and that's why they've been constantly together since yesterday. (Juka is the new vocalist for Hizaki's solo project.) He's so busy. He only just finished Metis Gretel's recording last week.

But it seems like he's having fun in the studio, and I'm glad he's working, even if it's not on his own music. I remember back in the Sony days, whenever Kamijo was asked about what he'd been buying lately, he'd always say "desktop publishing equipment", instead of typical nouveau riche rock-star junk like fancy cars or bling, and I thought he was so smart. ^^ Now he's got a studio that's 80% as good as the one they used during the Sony period, which is probably awesome compared to what indies bands generally use, and he's making money by producing other bands. Good for him. XD (but I hope he'll do some work on a solo release soon...)
