I'm so sorry!
I don't know how to write in actual Japanese on my computer yet... Probally a reasonably good thing, since I know very little japanese.
I took a year of Japanese in university and the first sememster was okay, but the second semester my sensei from Tokyo was no longer my teacher. My new teacher was from Osaka, and I had trouble understanding her accent. I only finished with a 50% average, barely enough to pass and didn't continue with my studies (mainly because I stopped going to university for other reasons).
However, I would like to learn this beautiful language, and thus I hope you'll all put up with me while I am in my "infantcy" and am unable to do the simplist things (like write in Japanese on a forum about Japan).
To give a small introduction of myself, I am a 28 year old Canadian female. I was introduced to the joys of Japan nearly 10 years ago when Sailor Moon showed on YTV here, and I realized that this cartoon had more character development in it than any other show on Television. You can imagine how shocked I was to discover shows like Evangelion and Elfin Lied. Now I must admit, anime is one of my major hobbies, but I'll try not to over discuss it here.
Yes, It all began for me with anime and although I humbly respect my roots, I now rather admire Japanese culture beyond anime and manga.
I enjoy talking about a variety of topics, but I do abhore superficial discussions (like what Paris Hilton is up to).
Well, I've probally said more than I should now, so I'll stop...
Any questions that I haven't answered, please feel free to ask!
