Hi new to the forum hope you all can help my farther in law has been given a sword that was surrendered to his grand farther during the war can anyone tell us what the inscriptions mean I have attached some pictures any help will be appreciated

At the moment, I can't really say much about the sword, but I can say, WELCOME to JREF !!

I would hope that you'd be hanging around a bit, and checking out the fourm and maybe getting in some discussions, or sharing the story behind the sword's getting into your father's hands.
