Just announcing an iPhone application that my Japanese wife and I created to introduce people to Kansai-ben (Kansai Dialect) phrases!

Kansai-ben is fun, and more useful than you would expect since MANY characters in Japanese comedies and anime use Kansai-ben!

Let me know if you like it! It's our first application attempt. You can read, and hear all of the Japanese phrases, and explanations are included.

It also works on iPod Touch!

agreed. vB needs a mobile version for sure.

I decided to splurge and get this application for my iTouch.

I have to say, compared to most of the Japanese apps that exist on the iTouch this one is pretty decent. I'm not disappointed and so far I'd say I recommend it to anyone interested in picking up the general phrases.

Personally I don't think you can "study" a dialect.
A dialect is something you'll learn while you "live it".
I learned Kansai-ben rather quickly after moving to Kansai without ever studying it.

I guess it's still a nice idea for people who live outside of Japan and have no other options.
