The First Interview For Russian Fans From Juka, the Legendary Vocalist Of Japan (Exclusive)

00000000000000000000000ni8-1.webp

- Dear Juka, this is your first interview for Russian fans. How do you feel?
Juka: Thank you for covering me!

It is fantastic that my feelings can reach the people of a distant country!

- Your new works differ from your past works. Now you are mixing various styles and it makes a kind of unique musical portrait of you. How would you describe your music and why did you decide to mix musical styles?
J: If one assumes the previous period was solid black, I suppose now it might be a rainbow. Isn't it?

Presently, I would like to express the diversity within me with my singing voice, and also challenge myself.
My current style is the embodiment of this intention.

If whatever one sings is the same, isn't it dull?

As to why music... To put it in an extreme way, music is essential and indispensable for us humans.

For example, even if one isn't intentionally touched by music, it will naturally come to the ear in everyday life. Right?

That is why I think it is essential and indispensable.

Conversely, if there was no music, "Juka" would also not exist, and neither would this interview.

- When did you become interested in music and what are your musical influences?
J: As soon as I was born and could perceive it, I was touched by music.

In the beginning, it was the influence of my father.

He is very skilled, so I often mimicked him singing.

After that, by my mother's influence I began to learn keyboards and wind instruments.

There is nothing particular, which influences the present "Juka".

That is, nothing outside of myself personally.

- Your singing is so beautiful and emotional. Who or what inspires you? Please tell us about your muses.
J: I am so deeply moved to be told it is "beautiful" and "emotional" from the people of a distant country who cannot understand the words.

Thank you.

Originally, I wanted to move you with my singing, but this is more moving. (laugh)

Of course, I will return this emotion multiplied to the people of Russia!

As for whom I've been influenced by, of course it is my father.

Our voices are similar.

- What do you think about a singer who is learning to sing like you? If someone calls you "Teacher", what will you say to that person?
J: Is there someone who is imitating me? (laugh)

I don't know, but I'd like to become a singer who is copied.

- Your visual style rocks! Especially your new blond hairstyle. Are you designing your costumes, hair and make up by yourself? Do you put your makeup on by yourself?
J: I can have a rock style even if my hair is black. (laugh)

By the way, it's silver hair, not blond.

I considered the design of my current wine-red costume myself.

After expressing myself, I think this became the best costume.

I have done my hair and makeup myself from before.

Since it's a way of portraying yourself, I think there's no meaning if you don't do it yourself.

- A general question about visual kei style. A lot Japanese rock bands use amazing colorful costumes and put on incredible makeup sometimes. What are the origins of this tradition? Is it the influence of kabuki and no theaters? Or something else?
J: Among typical visual kei people, I fear it's likely that there is no one who thinks kabuki is the origin.(laugh)

I think that is an image of Japan as seen from the outside.

I don't know about other people, but for me, when I was 14 years old, the beginning was willfully borrowing my mother's makeup tools, wanting the lovely features of foreigners (Russians, etc.).

- Please tell us about your everyday life. What are your hobbies?
J: Fishing! It's lure fishing!

- Are sports or martial arts important for you? Have you ever practiced kendo, jodo or iaido? *These special questions are from ヒロキ, the ONGAKUEN magazine main editor.*
J: I have done various sports like baseball, soccer, and track and field events, but above all, I seriously aimed at becoming Japan's representative in the marathon.

However, I had leg injuries and had to give it up.

However, I think that experience improved my lung capacity, so I can sing like this now.

By the way, I have no experience in martial arts. I'm first-class at calligraphy. (laugh)

- A lot of people in Russia, and not only in Russia, are fond of cosplaying. What do you think about this kind of fan activity?
J: Regardless of nationality or sex, I would be happy to see people cosplaying me.

- Anime and manga are extremely popular in Russia. Are you interested in anime or manga? What are your favorites?

J: I am not very interested in them.

Are you a gamer? If yes, what are your favorites?
J: I do not have free time or a game console so I generally don't play them, but I am good at just F-1 games!

I know all the courses and corners. (laugh)

- What about your future plans? Are you going to be solo or will you collaborate with a band?
J: The current activities are the continuation of my dreams.

- You have had great success in Western Europe. Do you have any interest in singing on a Russian stage someday?
J: I would certainly like to stand on a Russian stage.

Not only Russia, I would like to present myself on stages all over the world.

- What is your message for Russian fans?
J: I am very glad that my songs and thoughts are understood through this coverage for the people of Russia.

I will keep singing so please look forward to it!

I am hoping for the day we can meet.

Thank you very much for the interview! We can't wait to hear your future works, good luck!

Thank you darkshadow for the info.
I like both songs. I can't really choose between the two.

EDIT: Does anyone know or have the translations for the two songs (Saint Croix and Fall of Leaves) ?

I was logged in a Mdm forum before they change the ex-members of the band ... and the thruth is that Mana wanted a new voice for the new album... so basicaly Juka had to leave the band... I don't exactly if he wanted to or not.
but still... Juka is cooler solo, the style of mdm just didn't fit to him and besides... the new album is awesome *o*
I mean the old, lol,Aravesque is pretty old now..
but still owns.

(I guess Mana will change the vocalist at every two albums ._.)

Juka's Health

NEWS FROM -SCAPE-

Juka talked a little at last night's concert about his reason for halting musical activities. He's sick. My knowledge of Japanese medical vocabulary is limited to cold/flu symptoms (>_<) so I didn't catch the name of the problem myself, but on 2ch they're saying it was throat polyps. I did hear him say he's had it for 3 years. He's halting activities to get treatment and is hoping to be able to return to music in the future.

OH MY GOOOOOD!!!!!!Jukaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!I hope he can be fine!!!!!:(

so...where can I find all the Juka's lyrics????Can someone help me??????:-)
Found Fall Of Leaves lyrics:

Itsu made mo kitto itsu made mo
