can I just ask if anyone knows why so many of these bands have french names?

hi.. pretty many of my favorites are already said, but something more.. baroque, kagerou, plastic tree, lareine, raphael, inugami circus-dan. and some good songs from dir en grey (they're all pretty good, but these are my favorites..) - raison detre, cage, jessica, yokan, 304 goushitsu hakushi no sakura, filth, marmalade chainsaw, child prey, increase blue.. (not saying anymore, too many. but deg is good, right.)

anime_artistuk: To spare giving the long winded answer, I'll just say short answer is, its the style. French and German.

A lot of them have deep European influences as well, and are probably obsessed with France (COUGH MANA), like Lareine.
