What site does everyone use for learning Japanese?

Very good. Bran new. Just released... It has several lessons and all conversation in them is available to listen to by real Japanese people in Japan in the web page itself. They have links to videos, they have a newsletter in both Japanese and English, they have information on Japan in general.
They also have a large Kanji list of useful kanji that you use every day in Japan. Also there is a more (not for beginners) lesson on Information Technology and such.

Try learning phrases

People think that they have to learn vocabulary first but this is a sure way to just get frustrated. Try learning short phrases that you can then substitute with other vocabulary. You'll find you'll cover a lot of ground in a short amount of time by just learning little short phrases that don't take a lot of time to remember. A good site is called bitesizejapanese.
Just type in bitesizejapanese into google to find the site.
