Japanese hostage dead in Iraq Also: Suicide blasts kill five

Japanese hostage abducted earlier this month.
Akihiko Saito was among a group of five foreign workers — four of them earlier confirmed dead — who were ambushed in the vast Anbar province west of Baghdad.

BAGHDAD — Two suicide attackers detonated car bombs in northern Iraq on Saturday, killing at least five Iraqis, and a Japanese hostage abducted weeks ago was confirmed dead by his family and officials after abductors released a gruesome videotape purporting to show his body.

They are doing this because Japan has sent troops to iraq correct? That is my understaning. Japan should pull out of Iraq. It's not thier fight and it would be a huge shame to have so many innocents die so Bush can get richer off of oil.

If nobody would help it would be even worse, and to pull them out now would mean the deaths of so many were for nothing...It's not an issue between America and the terrorists anymore, but between the world and the terrorists.If everybody would help it would be more powerfull.

The Japanese might deserve this better in its neighboring countries. Yet of course, what many Chinese are pondering is whether their dwarf neighbor deserve any kind of retaliation.

Just a caution, no offense though.

(BTW, Two Japanese cabinet ministers ﾂ（whose names I am unable to transmit in an alphabetic formﾂ）openly proposed yesterday that the Class A war criminals in the what-ye-call-it shrine should not be taken as criminalsﾂ， utterly denying the far-east military tribunal as one-sidedﾂ。)

I personally never doubt that most of the Christian nations have sent their troops to Iraq for humanitarian concerns. But Japan is an exception. Trust me..

Japan still wants your pacific constitution? Does the Japanese ambition deserve it?

Look, it's very painfull to be the first to post this.

I spotted this on the Web. Please consider the family and friends of "Akihiko Saito", and what they are going through. Maybe Akihiko was truley someone special, someone you could like.

I don't mean any harm to the hostage, instead i do wish i had the opportunity of express my grief upon their being killed.

I was talking about how Japanese ambition has been different than that of Christian nations, pal. Don't mislead me or others.

Let's not politicize this. It's degrading, and we're falling into one of the two possible traps. Whoever is doing this is subhuman and mentally ill as all hostage taking terrorists are. They should stop printing these in regular news and should shove them over to the medical, criminal, or military. *throws up*

Ralian, I am perhaps no less of a humanist than you are, and I am sorry if u are misled. I was trying to make the point that Japan should not have blindly followed Bush into Iraq, which i think has led to the tragedy of Akihiko being taken hostage and being mercilessly killed. That is just in addition to my sincere mourning.

I do agree with you Tonysoong, that Japan, Australia and other countries should not have followed Bush into Iraq.

Enormous politcal pressue, and over-promising by Bush/Chenney crowd, was part of this.

Nobody thought Bush/Chenney were that incompetent. Beside n-o-t going to
Vietnam, they learned nothing from it (didn't they study the Israel push into
Southern Lebannon).
