There's a website I have been looking at today(can't post it due to not having enough posts.><)But, I'm a very firm believer in the super-natural(I've had some experiences myself.*_*)
I wanted to share this..
I read the top and thought this was interesting:
"Warning
Any places listed in the Haunted Places requires permission to visit or investigate. Many of the places are patrolled by the authorities, trespassers will be prosecuted. "
And I was wondering..why is these places so locked up and protected?
I was wondering are they a little more open minded of these things and protective of people in these kinda areas?

Is it only in our minds though?
What about the sudden change in temp.?
Or the electronics going crazy when a ghost is thought to be there?
We won't know until we leave this world, but I personally think they are very much among us like you and I.
 
I agree with Ghostless-Shell. How is it possible that a person can know things that they were never told unless a spirit has told them? How is it possible that there is so much evidence for their existence? Personally, I don't think they exist, I KNOW they exist.
 
It is just becasue it is a private property, I think.
Or it is a list of places where you can not see them easily.

It was not a hauted place at all, but I felt the forest was really alive in the ones in Southern Nara and Northern Hokkaido.
 
Yeah, most haunted places are probably lived in. Like the Amityville house in America (112, Ocean Avenue). People live in it now and complain about tourists taking pictures... but also insist that it isn't haunted. Maybe that is the case with some Japanese haunted places?

I'd love to know if there are any haunted places that ARE tourist attractions and you don't need permission to enter, you know, for if I ever go to Japan. Which I plan to.

Hi,

I read your post and I'm interested in the supernatural though I have never seen/experienced anything myself. I am in japan at the moment and me and some friends want to go hitchiking to some haunted spots to see what happens. Can you let me know the website you were checking out in your post?

There are many things that Science cannot answer.
My thought is that, due to radioactivity given out by the Human Body, and other sorts of frequencys can affect the area around them. There are some things that can prove either supernatural or scientific beliefs. The bond a mother and child share can be so great that a mother knows when their child is hurt even when she has no physical proof.
Think of a walkie talkie. They connect over a frequency, and send messages to each other. This is sent in the form of light (same way infra-red works).
So a bond between people could use frequencies to send messages. It could be the same thing.

If you think about it, a dead person could leave something behind (not a physical object, but possibly matter) that emits a frequency that people can pick up and that can, in some cases change what is going on in an area. Ghosts.

^Those are my thoughts. You can think them wrong, but it is plausible. Other explanations are that there are ghosts, or that it is all in your head...
I'll shut up now. I just know somebody is going to say what I've said is stupid, but it's my thoughts. And it does back up supernatural things (in some cases)

No. It is not stupid. Everybody is entitled to their opinion on these things. The only thing that annoys me about this subject is the sceptics that still ignore the facts and the evidence even when it is right in front of them. There is so much evidence that cannot be ignored. Mind you, a lot of mine is personal experience.
 
Do you mean general evidence or personal evidence? The personal evidence, it's the kind of thing that you wouldn't believe if I told you. It's evidence that helps me believe, not to persuade other people. And as for general evidence, you can find that anywhere. Libraries, websites, anywhere.
 
You've heard that people and animals give off Carbon Dioxide right, even when dead.

Well, they give off radioactivity.
Say a murder enquirery was on, and the don't find the body for say, 10 years after the person went missing, and they think that the person (now dead) was actually kept hostage for a few years, but they don't know how long, they can measure the amount of radiactive counts per whatever they want, do a formulae and find out how long the person has been dead exactly

It is a very useful bit of technology, and is also used for things like the metal industry, to see how thick the metal is by the counts per seconds etc.

It is interesting stuff.

yes it is. i understand now, and i know about what you are talking about. but never thought of it as ''radioactivity'', nor myself as ''radioactive''. it was just new use of term for me NHF?
 
The problem here seems to be the misunderstanding of the word evidence.

 
At night everywhere in Japan is haunted, anywhere not immediately illuminated by a street light or other light source seems pitch black and menacing.

I was driving through the edges of Tokyo once, and when we went over this hill road, a hilly spur thing from the nearby mountains that had tree's all over it, suddenly the night closed in and I felt really bloody worried like there was a menace all around us :S.

Even in the middle of winter my native night times don't seem so bad but yeah, for some reason Japan at night scares me, its just sooooo dark, makes me glad theres light pollution from Tokyo proper out east.

I dunno why, Japan is so in the grips of everything modern and fleeting and clean and new, that anywhere remotely old or with a level of perminance seems almost to have a presence of its own, haunted if you will.

hey! maybe we should find an old "haunted" mansion and take camera obscura's and begin taking pictures when our eyes mess up from the dim lights making it appear as if there is distortion in the air and then imagining that the picture changes when we look at it. shake it like a polaroid!!!!!

but i would love to see some haunted Japanese buildings, specially if there are some Yurei in there ^_^ -sigh- the ghost girls in J-horrors are usualyl so hot. even in fatal frame (i mean the ones that arnt torn to bits, distorted, malnourished or pimp-slapped in anyway...)

i dont say "they" are real or not or if its even right to call them they, it very well may be earthly as opposed to astral...
but you are cocky if you think "this is only in your head, it is not real, forget about it"

What we need to remember here is that this is a thread about haunted places in Japan, not about whether ghosts exist. I believe we've had a debate about this before that nobody joined in, so I would suggest opening another thread on Chit-Chat about the existence of the supernatural world and, in the mean-time, get back on topic and continue to talk about places in Japan that say they are haunted.
 
ok back on topic, this is an easy one i love....
aokigahara forest at the base of mount fuji, this is probably one of the most "haunted" places in japan, if you dont know already, google it.
theres also a thread i started in this forum or japan practical about it.

it is an infamous suicide spot, over 70 bodies have been found within recent years, and human bones/material items can be found deep in the forest.
low quality compasses are known to fail because of iron deposits in the ground which (i love this quote)
"makes travelers lose their way and trap them in the forest with suicidal or deranged people"
while that might not be true, that just shows how haunted it seems.
(any nav device besides a standard compass will work though, GPS, or whatever)
even long ago it was regarded as a place for demons and spirits, filled with massive caves and rare foliage. its truly beautiful.
i also hear there are alot of stray dogs that live in the forest though i dont know if thats true.
if a body is found, one of the workers for the forest has to sleep near it, in fear the soul of the body will scream throughout the night and go into the workers bedding quarters.
 
Wow, that sounds really amazing. I suppose with all the bad stuff to happen there (to use the colloquial...) it's natural that it should be haunted.

I do love that quote to. A literary masterpiece. Haha.
