Are there any forums where beginners like me can go and post on. I know this forum has a section but I wa slooking for some that is a lil more active.

Yes, this is the one.
Forum in Japanese is "Keijiban" ﾂ「ﾅ断ﾅｽﾂｦ窶敕つ（窶堋ｯ窶堋｢窶堋ｶ窶堙寂?堙ｱﾂ）ﾂ」
There are so many categories to choose from.

Yahoo Japan's forum is very large.

Japanese are soooo active on forums, it's unbelievable. Now many forum are accessible from cell phones, too, which explains partly why most of my HS students seem surgically attached to their ﾅ暖窶佚 (keitai = cell phone)ﾂ！This one, for example, is dedicated to cell phone pictures!!!> http://3w.to/keitai Talk about pop subculture!
