Japanese Eyepatches! :O

Hey guys, got a simple question for ya.

You know those eyepatches that Agito/Akito from Air Gear is wearing? Ryomou Shimei from Ikkitousen and a bunch of other anime characters are also wearing it. I've been looking all over the net for those kind of eyepatches, but i've only found them on JList/JBox, and they're out of stock there it seems.

On JList, they were called "String Type Eyepatches". So i'm looking around internet shopping sites that sells japanese stuff for those. Could any of you help me out a little and tell me where i can get those kind of eyepatches? I'd appreciate it alot.

If you do an image-search for "string type eyepatch" in Google, you'll find 1 image. Those are the kinds of eyepatches i'm looking for, or something similar. Those are also the ones that are out of stock on JList. The image points to Velvetgarden.net, but that site links the product to JList/JBox.

That's all for me, apologize for the length But to get most out of it and avoid misconceptions, i've gotta give a detailed description. Would appreciate any help.

I would imagine that you can get them at most drugstores in Japan.

People are getting too lazy in front of the comp, consider it exercise. Honestly, a few clicks and a little typing isn't the end of the world, so don't get too worked up on that.

I've made enough "exercise" trying to find those eyepatches on the net, thus i'm here trying to get some info, so people "imagining" things aren't of any interest. I don't live in Japan, so i don't have the luxury to visit a japanese drugstore, and how many drugstores in japan do have a site that's not in japanese.

So unless you do have solid information relevant to my request, please refrain from trivial replies since i'm anticipated for a good answer.

After looking at the photo, I doubt that Japan is the only place you could find that. Seems to me that it is something that you could make yourself quite easily.

When I was in junior high school, the fashion rage among a certain large section of the student body was to wear fake eyeglasses, commonly referred to as "poindexters" if memory serves. Aspiring to be fashionable leads to all sorts of nonsense.

I would want to help you, but wanting medical eye-patches just because Japanese wear them smacks of Japanophilia noobery to me.

Seriously, why do you want one?....its a MEDICAL EYEPATCH, its something people wear over lazy/damaged/surgery recovering eyes....

You get that stuff in the west, just injure your eye or become lazy and bingo, your elegible for one.

Cant you want a bokken?, or a yakuta?, or hashi? or you know, something actually japanese for the cultural facination rather then a japan obsession inspired urge?.

Meh your money, your choice, still.....i think not being able to find them is a sign from god man, save your money for something worthwhile.

Its unlikely they will be sold anywhere else, their japanese medical eye-patches, which means apart from Japanese websites in japan trading in japan in japanese yen, or stores in japan, theres no reason to sell them as fetish items to a tiny minority of foreigners.

The site the OP mentioned is not a Japanese medical site, but more of a Japanophile's dream...complete with leg warmers and school girl uniforms, so I guess you'd be surprised what you will find for sale on the net!

I agree with CC1, providing a link would be better. And I don't like the tone of the OP's reply to Mike. Don't expect people to be friendly when you just joined and already start off in such a tone. And at last, whatever he wants with the thing is his business.

My two cents: People know what you are talking about w/ eye patches, I didn't even look at the link, an I'm guessing they are a white square patch with two strings on each side that go around the ears.

However, and BIG however, not everyone happens to know whomever Agito/Akito from Air Gear are... Not everyone watches or knows anything about anime.

It's pretty common in both cosplay & street fashion, well, it shows up often enough in those two places.

Ahwell, i'll just put it down to another case of japanese wierd fashion.

Hahaha, pretty inevitable, after all, this is the internet, what more could i expect. I've never been on a forum where people tried to act this superior to newcomers just because they've been here longer than i have, but i do not mind it at all, since i find it quite entertaining when people starts this kind of things over the internet. Not to mention, this is a Japanese reference forum too! I'm quite a forum junkie in a few forums, and i respect other people by providing them what they question for without further trivial nonsense. Do onto others as you would wish them to do onto you, easy as that.

Besides, i didn't provide a link, why bring up such a discussion about it and saying that i've got an attitude? Well, i agree that i have quite an attitude, and i don't regret it at all since i've got pride. Most of you also referred to me as many other things, but i don't mind that at all since this is just the internet, if it would've been to my face, it would've been a different story. Instead, you could just have ignored my thread and do whatever else that would mean less trouble, or provide a decent answer, thus i would've appreciated your response and thanked you in return for the kindness.

About me bitching? I prefer to stand my ground since i've got the right to do so, and since i didn't do anything wrong, but if you wanna call that "bitching", go ahead and be my guest. I've never stated that i wanted the eyepatches for myself, nor did i say that i'm "Japanophile". And if they were that easy to find, i wouldn't be discussing about this by now.

I wanna buy these because they're requested, and because i'm helping out medical institutions, hospitals, you name it, since they specifically asked for me to do it. I'm a normal person just like anyone of you, yes, but i help ppl out instead of just sitting in forums, trying to act so mature. We're a few billion people on earth, and not everyone got two perfect working eyes like you, so please do not assume that i'm a "Japanophile" just because i'm requesting for a peculiar product like this, since it wouldn't be proper "n/etiquette" if you wanna go deeper into that point.

Sure, there are a wide variations of eyepatches, but as you can see by Da Monstar's reply to this thread, we can understand why people wouldn't want, let's say, black eyepatches. We're looking for more easy and casual ones like the ones i requested in this thread since it looks less... "pirate", thus i stand where i am now. And believe me when i say that this forum isn't the only source i've been trying to extract information from.

And why do you call me OP when my name is xaladin? Is that proper netiquette you think? I say this again, i am just looking for answers without so many trivial replies, thank you. Sorry for the length of this post, but i gotta admit that this was quite entertaining.

And we're to believe that Swedish hospitals have no access to eyepatches other than to ask some anime fan to hunt for them on Japanese anime fan supply websites?
