I want to use this thread as a repository for old photos taken in Japan: people, townscapes, and landscapes. A lot of these photos circulate on social media. If you find imagery from the Edo or Meiji eras through the Heisei period that you'd like to share, please post it here.
Another one is from our neighbourhood. I never knew that there was a monorail running between Mukōgaoka-Yūen Station and Mukōgaoka Amusement Park (向ヶ丘遊園 Mukōgaoka-Yūen). The amusement park operated from 1927 to 2002. Nowadays, parts of it are used for the Ikuta Ryokuchi Rose Garden, while the base of the hill houses the Fujiko F. Fujio Museum (藤子F.不二夫ミュージアム). The park and the monorail were operated by Odakyu.
