I truly hope so!

If it was mine, I'd be wondering--the shakensho and insurance card were in the glove box..., so where do I go and what do I do from here?
 
We checked Yahoo News later and found that the three passengers made it out of the car safely. Why on earth would an engine catch fire?
 
A few not-so-good ones from yesterday.

This was 11:15 in the morning, and there was a lively conversation/discussion from inside.

This one's cute but the sun is too harsh, so back again sometime on a cloudy day.

It's not that unusual here in the U.S. but we don't have the shaken inspection system so cars can be in any condition you can imagine.
Also poor design or defective parts are also possible.
 
Camping at the tottori sand dunes.
Had a slight rain tonight but at least now it's not raining.
I haven't been at this campsite for two and a half years it's under new ownership now and it used to be free by the city but now they charge.

I'll be here for two nights well actually two nights yeah and then go to Diasen
Encounter one night I think it's going to be pretty cold.
 
And on closer inspection, not all that different, but you can see differences, or things not seen before.



This is barely noticeable from the street. But someone took the trouble to collect all of these, and arrange them in the window like this.

A friend, who was going anyway, asked if we wanted to ride along to this exhibition Wednesday in Nanao--very nice, but no photography. But click on "images" here to see images of his ink work (to me, 水墨 share some characteristics with B&W photography).

Then we went on to Notojima, where we caught the tail end of a glass exhibit (they're going to reform the building). And most of that allowed pictures.















 
First is at a shrine, this month's design, how they're handling the 手水屋. (full of flowers in past months)



Then back into the mountains for a while.



But I'm not sure which crop of this is better. First might be better showing the overall, but farther back and the left end (even tho some peppers there) looks kind of like it's empty, or surplus-y, or unneeded. Second is closer, with more detail (can see that they're peppers), similar spread of colors, but does it 'gel' as well?

Great shots! As for the last motif, I like both the "surplus-y" one and the close-up.
 
A couple others. First is a Dahlia, and in past years there was this one place where the guy had a lot of these growing in pots in front of his house. But something happened, my first guess is a medical issue, second might be some problem with the plants. Last year and especially this year, not only the Dahlias he kept working on, but other flowers, are just not there, and the couple that are are not really being cared for. What had been full, lush, and tended, is now not any of those things. Definitely a loss.



This next one doesn't quite make it. It's got some nice colors, and I like the hint of some flowers in the window. The white box I think has some unshelled kuri in it, but it's kind of sterile, or it lacks something to give it some oomph.



And speaking of kuri, these are the husks.
