Small local onsen, takitei/滝亭 (too many dinner pics, so I'll skip those)

Taken from the lounge next to the lobby. The small white blooms at the top are kanzakura.


Out the windows of our rooms. First on arrival, later afternoon, then in the morning. River is Saigawa/犀川.

More food, def on the astounding side. Wife's brother-in-law worked for a public-private fishery organization, now retired. Thru that connection, he scored an amazing number of crabs for only a couple man. First pic is with my wife's hand to show scale, and she's 172cm tall so her hands are not too small--maybe the ladle in the background is better for that? They left this one uncut/whole so everyone could see how big it was. Second shot is a body/kani-miso, j-coffee cup on the side for scale. It's not often I overeat on kani, but today was one of those days.



 
That looks amazing and scrumptious! I love kanimiso.

I remember they were selling these huge かにあし all along the route when we cycled from Joetsu to Toyama. The big specimen in your first picture looks as if it was still alive.
 
Today I took my sister, niece and nephew to Hakone and got this classic shot.

Thread 'Mount Fuji sees latest snowcap in 130 years'

Mount Fuji received its first snowfall of the season on 7 November, marking the latest first snowfall in 130 years. The Kofu Local Meteorological Office officially confirmed the snowfall at 6:15 AM. At around 7 AM, the temperature at the 3,776-meter summit dropped to -8.4 degrees Celsius. This delayed snowfall can be attributed to unusually warm temperatures in October, the highest on record. Meteorological experts suggest that climate change may contribute to this delayed seasonal event.
